I think someone laughed at my dinosaur jumper

On my way out of M&S food hall earlier wearing the rather splendid dinosaur jumper Father Christmas brought, and I think I got laughed at by a lady passing me. I could be wrong, but she had previously been walking in silence with a man, looked directly at my chest (where aforementioned dinosaur is proudly displayed) and laughed. One of those slightly derisive, snorty kinds of laugh.

I’m now thinking of making this jumper a sort of M&S uniform, and wearing it every time I go there, in the hope of bumping into her again, and through regular exposure, showing her the joys of dino knitwear.

What do we think? Perhaps I need to up my dinosaur game to be really effective? Dinosaur leggings? Dress? Face paint and matching sound effects?

I think it is awesome and would definitely make me smile if I saw you wearing it. Stuff like that brightens my day.

Sugarhill Brighton are great. I keep eyeing up their dino dresses but can't really justify the cost right after Christmas!

Penguins are my thing. I have no problem going out with them on a jumper, sweatshirt, or hat. I get teased mercilessly, but I'm proud of my love of penguins.

Luckily DS loves them and we can geek out together 😉

I wore a penguin T-shirt and penguin face mask when I went for my booster, got asked by the nurse if I was a fan of penguins

I’ve also got a dinosaur T-shirt which is one of my favourites and have just ordered a dinosaur jumper thanks to this thread! I’ll be able to wear dinosaurs year round now!

Loving this thread! I wear a lot of bright colours, patterns, like moromini dresses & my DH bought me these...I also have rainbow sequin socks martens. Every time I wear either I get stopped by ppl saying they love my shoes & it brings a smile to their face

It’s amazing! Kendo did a dinosaur jumper a couple of years ago. It was £££ but I seriously considered shelling out for one until I remembered I’m not rich.

Don’t knock Tu. I got a dinosaur Christmas dress from there. I love it. I was given a different dinosaur dress for Christmas and already have a dinosaur pinafore. Probably about 70% of my dresses have dinosaurs on (I don’t have many dresses). I wore a t-shirt with a bear riding a dinosaur to my Covid booster which was admired by the nurse giving the jab.

Pft. I adore my run and fly dinosaur dress. I have a space dress too with rockets and planets and my favourite, a T Shirt which says “dinosaurs rock”.

Are you sure they laughed in a sneery way?
I would have laughed/smiled at your jumper as it would have made me happy to see it but as I have extreme grumpy resting face (even worse with a mask on) it could have been taken as me being nasty instead

Maybe it just made her smile (in a good way)? I have a jumper with big winky eyes on it, and I see people look at it and smile - I like that it brings a moment of amusement to a random stranger's day!

It's possible she wasn't laughing in a sneery way. I may well have it wrong. But it seemed that way!

Thanks to this lot though I now have a plan of action if I ever meet her again involving:

1. Wearing far more dinosaur-related things every time I go to M&S - a whole outfit if possible

1. Flapping short T-Rex arms at her and asking her to reach things from high shelves for me

1. Showing her my best roar

And if all else fails

1. Charging at her, head down, triceratops-style

I'm now looking for reasons to go back to M&S even though I don't need anything from there.

I have many dino items and have to take care not to overdo it...this jumper is my favourite!

If any of you ladies are local to Brighton, I'd check out the physical shop - there's quite often a sale rail of £15 dresses (much cheaper than online)

Love it! I always love seeing people dressed in fun, interesting clothing.
