If you have set any for 2022 what are they?

I think New Years resolutions are mainly crap as a concept. If you wanted to be doing something, you'd already be doing it. Thats why the majority fail.

@Justgettingbye

Mine are quite simple and involve having a one hour walk each day and making time for my hobbies each day instead of wasting time doing unnecessary stuff.

Also ditching carbs for January.

I wasn't going to make any but woke up feeling positive (and sober) this morning so...

  1. Long walk or gym or bike ride daily
  2. Less screen time
  3. Drink less

First walk already done. 72 mins and 412 calories.

SilverOtter · 01/01/2022 12:07
  1. Be more patient/tolerant
  2. Not buy any new clothes (apart from knickers)
  3. I'm sure there was a third, but I can't remember it🤣

  1. Zero food waste
  2. Minimize the use of plastic
  3. 3L water daily. Will be happy with 2L. Currently can go days without drinking much water.
Justgettingbye · 01/01/2022 13:24

I like the sound of those kinder, exercise, drinking less alcohol more water!
I'm on a bit of a low today with the pressures to be excited and have lots of plans for 2022 but in reality it's different.

I want to have more fun especially as a family. The last couple of years while not totally negative have been very dull and we have been on survival mode, never really doing anything or going anywhere out of the ordinary even when covid restrictions allow.

A smaller aim - I read/listened to 15 books in 2021, I hope to manage 20 this year!

loveablequalities · 01/01/2022 13:33
  1. More sea swimming
  2. Learn to crochet
  3. Take up yoga

My children (ages 8, 6 and 4) have various resolutions:

Write a book
Do more scootering business
Learn to make meringues, chocolate mousse and toffee ice cream
Go swimming more often
Learn to surfboard
Learn to knit
More dancing

FindingMeno · 01/01/2022 13:34

BoudecaBains · 01/01/2022 13:36

I’m looking to change my job.

FourRandomWordsCheese · 01/01/2022 14:14
  1. Lose 2 kilos

100% this.

If your biggest driving factor is the year being 2022 rather than 2021 then your motivation is not high enough to succeed. That is not to say all resolutions fail but as said above if you were really bothered you would alreadyb be doing it.

Booklover3 · 01/01/2022 15:07

To stop overthinking.

To build on my self esteem.

For our home life and businesses to flourish.

BleuJay · 01/01/2022 15:21

To continue to make myself exempt from the brainwashing.

No mask, no social distancing, no App, no testing and definitely no jabs.

Sagegreenvelvet · 01/01/2022 15:29

Not using Amazon!

blackberriesaretheonlyfruit · 01/01/2022 15:30

Cook more Id got so lazy with takeaways away since covid. Not being able to go to proper shops only our local crappy village store stole all my motivation.

In the last few years i've managed to give up smoking and taught myself to knit which were resolutions.

Happyface120 · 01/01/2022 15:37

To reassess my relationship with alcohol. I'm not sure quite that will look like, but starting with a dry January

SpookyScarySkeletons · 01/01/2022 15:39

I usually have the same old rubbish like lose weight, drink less, eat more veg etc etc etc

However after an illness that took my ability walk away last Christmas I am aiming to walk unaided again by Christmas 2022. It's going to be hard but I'm am going to work my bloody socks off to get there!

At the moment I can do about 10m very very slowly with a frame or 2 walking sticks. Wheelchair for anything further than 10m. I am going to be skipping into my work Christmas party in 12 months time.

niceupthedanceagain · 01/01/2022 16:06

Like @SingToTheSky mine is to have more fun as everything is just so DULL

bonfireheart · 01/01/2022 16:15

Eat better
Move more
Spend more quality time with DD
Do less at work but convince everyone that I am doing so much more - something everyone else on my team has nailed

LaLaFlottes · 01/01/2022 16:17

Get back into my running more and do a half marathon.

Learn to ski - have wanted to for ages but this is the year!!
