Betty White has died

She was only a few weeks away from her 100th birthday. Ah how I loved her as Rose in The Golden Girls.

She was such a wonderful comic actress, and her role as Rose was both funny and moving.

I loved her in all the little roles I saw her in too.

Apparently she was originally offered the role of Blanche in TGG but asked to be Rose instead as she'd played a maneater on the Mary Tyler Moore Show and didn't want to be typecast!

Weirdly enough I had been re-watching old episodes of Golden Girls a few months back just out of the blue.

I remembered being allowed to stay up and watch those in th 80s.
