Please can we chat about it on this thread :)

I've seen them 2009 at Glastonbury
2010 - Milton Keynes Bowl
2010 - V Festival

So epic, I often watch old videos on YouTube and think I would probably die if I went to a Prodigy gig now!

Did my last exam of degree, home, grab backpack, straight to the Prodigy

FrankTurner · 30/12/2021 17:40

Twice at V in Chelmsford
Did some work for Liam many moons ago & spent time chatting to him & Keith - lovely, kind guys.
Cried when Keith died, such a shame.

dontsitdown · 30/12/2021 17:42

I've seen them quite a few times. The best one by far was when they played their home town (braintree) I'm from there too. Was amazing!!!

I have seen them, either at Glastonbury or Phoenix or both in the 90s but apart from them being good I don't remember anything else including the venue Sad

GrandPrismatic · 30/12/2021 17:47

2006 New York…maybe MSG theatre or roseland ballroom…can’t quite remember. I do remember that I had to go there straight from work in a very stuffy bank with my corporate suit on….I didn’t let that get in the way of dancing like a loon and getting smashed :)

timeandagain1 · 30/12/2021 17:47

Marquee 1994 or 5 (as was, now a dingy Weatherspoons on Charing Cross Road, London). Proper epic.

Waitwhat23 · 30/12/2021 17:49

Reading 2001 or 2002 (can't remember exact year). They were absolutely brilliant - the atmosphere among the crowd was great.

FMSucks · 30/12/2021 17:51

I’ve been lucky enough to see them 3 times.

2004 - the Olympia Dublin. Tiny little venue. They came out in glow in the dark skeleton suits and top hats. They blew the roof off the place. Phenomenal gig (and I go to a lot of gigs).
2009 - was pregnant at the time, that was fun!
2015 - was very near the front, they came out, place went mental, drinks flying everywhere. I was pushed to the floor and couldn’t get back up as the floor was too slippy. Some bloke pulled me back up. My cousin lost everything in her bag including her wallet! I had to pay for her taxi home!

Was absolutely gutted when Keith died. I feel very blessed to have grown up in the rave era. The Prodigy are legends.

RJnomore1 · 30/12/2021 17:52

1998 T in the park. They were great, o was sick even though I’d not been drinking or anything.

Saw fat boy slim the next night too and managed not to spew.

dubyalass · 30/12/2021 17:52

Southampton Guildhall in 94 or 95? With N-Joi supporting (I think, memory is hazy!). Absolutely amazing.

SommerTen · 30/12/2021 17:53

1997 V97 Chelmsford age 20
Late 90s at BIC Bournemouth
Approx 2007 possibly at BIC Bournemouth

The 2 90s gigs were amazing; especially V97 as they were playing to a home crowd.. We only went to that festival because the Prodigy would be there.

The (possibly) 2007 one was not so good as they only played short bursts of their best tracks & weren't on for long. Just not like the 90s.

Lonelycrab · 30/12/2021 17:55

Saw them at a multi tent dance festival in the midlands somewhere around 94/95.

Some nutter/out of it bloke jumped up onto the stage after one song and pulled Liam’s massive keyboard stack over. The sound it made through the sound system as it hit the deck was....interesting Grin

Said bloke got dragged backstage by the bouncers for a stern talking to. It took about an hour before they were up and running again but was awesome.

HerBigChance · 30/12/2021 17:55

@TinaYouFatLard

I watched them open for Oasis at Knebworth. I wasn’t a fan at the time but they blew the audience away.
Same here. They were fantastic.
dubyalass · 30/12/2021 17:55

Hah, someone videoed it and has stuck it up on YouTube. 1994 indeed!

SommerTen · 30/12/2021 17:57

Now I'm going to try and find out what year the last Prodigy gig I went to was...

Marmite27 · 30/12/2021 18:02

98’ ish at Doncaster Dome. Could have we +/- 1. I was very young, but old enough to go out underage I remember my mum being horrified because I lost my top somewhere (took it off because some one soaked me in a pint) and came home without it Blush

We had firestarter and smack my bitch up played at our wedding reception.

desperatehousewife2 · 30/12/2021 18:04

Cork City Hall 1994/early 1995

Marmite27 · 30/12/2021 18:04

And voodoo people.

The grannies were not impressed with smack my bitch up Grin

There was knocking on for 20 years between events.

HiGunny · 30/12/2021 18:05

Trip to Tipp 1997 in Thurles, Ireland. They were the headline act. Amazing set, I just remember it felt the beat was lifting you off the ground. I've been to a lot of gigs and concerts since then and I would still rank them as the best. RIP Keith 😢

SommerTen · 30/12/2021 18:05

I think the less good Prodigy gig at Bournemouth was actually 2010.

And the really amazing gig at Bournemouth that I dont remember much about I thought was late 90s was 1997.

Marmite27 · 30/12/2021 18:08

@RovenderKitt

Doncaster Dome ‘96
Me too! I couldn’t remember the exact year!
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 30/12/2021 18:08

Voodoo People is one of my workout tracks when I need an arse kicking.

louderthan · 30/12/2021 18:09

97: Brighton Centre
98: Reading Festival

AtillatheHun · 30/12/2021 18:13

Knebworth really showed up how crap Oasis were. For stagecraft, prodigy were unbeatable.
