She's 18 and wanted a lingerie inspired camisole and thought she found one at a thrift store. We told her it was actual lingerie and not a shirt, but she wouldn't listen to us. But she posted a video on social media that was taken down as adult content because of her "shirt." The internet has spoken. That's not a shirt.

Bloody hell, what about when wonderbras and sheer tops were all the rage! That literally was going out in underwear, and we rocked it! She's 18, embrace her confidence and tell her how amazing she looks.

I used to wear a wonderbra underneath a suit jacket and no other top! It was very fashionable to show your bra back when I was 18!

When I was 18 we used to make a “top” out of a pair of fishnet tights (preferably neon) with the crotch and feet cut off. You put your head through the crotch, the legs became the arms and the waist came just under your boobs. This was teamed up with a wonder bra and those combat trousers the sat just abound your pubic line and had bits hanging off them, oh and a naturally flat stomach. Of course you needed a diamanté thong poking out the top. I wish I had a picture, I bet I looked awesome!

Ah yes - see through mesh tops with a wonder bra under. Cami slip tops. Skirts shorter than a boob tube and jeans so low your thong was visible over the top. Bebo never complained 😆

Yes! I wore a top like this to a NYE party in 2001 I think. I mean, what was I thinking?!

Black twenties-style silk chiffon nightie from NY thrift store cut off into a top - check. Wore it until it fell apart, with fluffy cream cardie with diamante buttons on top.

silk slip as dress, fishnets, chunky boots or indeed white high heeled ankle boots - check

White lace dress with purple wonderbra underneath - check. Red or Dead shoes with chain across them.

Olive green tulle top with irridescent beads sewn on in a flower spray (H&M) over a - wait for it - green snakeskin pleather boobtube. Much eyeliner and pale lipgloss, diesel jeans and aforementioned white ankle boots. Some kind of tousled razored mullet affair for hair.

I had a fav camisole top bought in the lingerie section. It was so delightfully slinky feeling.

I was in my goth phase by then, so I did a variation of that look.

Black fishnets over a black bra, with either a tartan miniskirt or skin tight PVC leggings. Add chains and dog collars and black lippy and I was ready for a night out (to my dad's horror)

another one who wore a silky see-through camisole as a going-out top when I was 18-21 ish. Oh, I miss those days. Would definitely have slapped pics of it all over Instagram had such a thing existed.

Am also clearly the same age as @MedusasBadHairDay and @LadyCatStark with the arm-tights/bra/combats look. Early 00s teen fashion was wild
