Sounds similar to our 'Cheesy Christmas Potatoes', but ours involves sour cream instead of cream cheese & are baked. I only ever make them at Christmas.

My holiday mashed has both cream cheese and sour cream, as well as butter. It's then baked in a casserole dish with sliced cheddar cheese laid on top. I make them for Thanksgiving too.

Once the rain ends this afternoon there's no precip in the forecast until Wednesday. What part of the country are you in?
