  1. DH has a call with oncology tomorrow and the hospice are making their first visit to him, I am trying and failing to be Christmassy.

  1. No particular reason at all, just not feeling it.

I am working but I normally work so it’s not that. Worried about getting COVID and colleagues getting it and the inevitable lack of staffing, I guess that’s part of it.

Just be glad when it is January 1st and we can all forget about Christmas tbh 🤷‍♀️

DontKeepTheFaith · 23/12/2021 19:06

I’m sorry for those that are genuinely going through an awful time💐💐

I hope everyone has a peaceful Christmas and are able to enjoy time with loved ones💕

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 23/12/2021 19:09

Also not desperately sad or anything. Just working and doing everything and haven’t felt the baubles swing yet Smile

bloodywhitecat. You are in my thoughts. Flowers

I had my first chemo on the 21st. I was expecting to feel awful - tired and nauseous - but actually I feel ok so far.
I've been baking today, am pretty much prepared and may be able to do Christmas without breaking stride.

Things could definitely be much worse Smile

hivemindneeded · 23/12/2021 19:10

Ah, sorry OP. I've felt that way before, but this year I feel Christmassy, just a bit tired. About 7-8.

Tree and lights up, lots of food prepped. All guests safely arrived having tested negative.

Had a lovely party for D-teens with a log fire and mulled wine for a bunch of their very nice friends who all lateral flowed before they came. Since then being pottering around making food, drinking wine, eating chocs, listening to Christmas music, visiting local stately home all decked out for Christmas.

ImInStealthMode · 23/12/2021 19:10

Not that much, maybe more tomorrow. DP's family are a 'celebrate on the 24th' nationality and it's thrown my usual routines right out of whack.

Malibuismysecrethome · 23/12/2021 19:11

“Bloodywhitecat” so sorry, from someone who’s been there. Flowers

WakeUpLockie · 23/12/2021 19:11
  1. 2 points because of the chocolate 😄
foreverandalways · 23/12/2021 19:12

It can quite frankly do one this year....roll on this time next week

MintJulia · 23/12/2021 19:12

Sending hugs @bloodywhitecat xx

hugoagogo · 23/12/2021 19:12

Not sure what christmassy feels like.

SunshineInMySprocket · 23/12/2021 19:14

2 really struggling this year. Missing my elderly parents like never before but keeping up appearances for our teens. It’s awful.

MaryAndHerNet · 23/12/2021 19:15

I'm in my 40s, I haven't felt Christmassy since I was preteen kid.
It's a season of waste, commercialism, indulgence and pressure on women. Fuck Christmas.

So I'll score myself about a 0.

smurfsss · 23/12/2021 19:16

2/10 maybe?

I'm not a massively Christmassy kind of person. Never have been.

I try to make an effort for the kids though.

LuluBlakey1 · 23/12/2021 19:19

2 House looks like Christmas, DC excited but DH broke bones in foot 2 days ago, has had op, is in cast thing and wearing 'The dressing gown of doom'. Plans for Christmas and Boxing Day are now us at home all day with DC. It is pouring here and has been darkish all day. Trying not to be irritated with DH's 'pathetic' voice. Grin

ditalini · 23/12/2021 19:21

Zero.

Working from home so no nice festive wind down in last couple days.

Work Christmas night out cancelled.

Usual Christmas things with family cancelled.

Not 100% sure we'll be going to parents for Christmas as planned until we wake up symptom free tomorrow and get clear LFTs.

All post Christmas plans cancelled.

I'm sure Christmas day will be lovely if we get to go, and a v chilled Christmas week will be nice. Hopefully weather will be dry and we can get out for walks.

But at the moment it just feels blah.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 23/12/2021 19:21
  1. One of our DC just got a positive PCR, we're currently living with inlaws as our building site isn't finished 🙈

I've enjoyed wrapping DC presents and they're super excited.

GinJeanie · 23/12/2021 19:22

I was around a 7 earlier but having just been met by a blood bath in the fridge, so now around 1. Just discovered that DH put the beef straight on the top shelf of the fridge and it's dripped onto ALL the shelves below. Christmas cheeses, brandy butter and veg are swimming in blood 😱. Jeez! Tempted to take the Ginger wine upstairs...

GinJeanie · 23/12/2021 19:22

💐 for those of you who've had plans cancelled or who are ill...

Lockdownbear · 23/12/2021 19:23

About a 4, just not feeling it this year. And I should be really excited I have a LO.in prime Santa years. I think it's all the covid doubts, and other illness in the family that's dragging me down.
