What time does your Postie show up?

I’ve recently moved to a new house which must be on the end of the Posties route…typically post arrives about 4pm. Massive difference to the 10am where I used to live. Apparently the norm pre covid too.

Is everyone’s post generally later these days? I used to remember Postie friends finishing at 2pm for the day!

It used to be 9:30am but now its anytime from 12:30pm to 3:40pm.

Sometime between 8 and 5 at the moment, used to be a very exact 10.30!

About 2 usually. We’re end of the rural route.

Any time! Sometimes as early as 10am, other times as late as 2pm and we live on a main road in a city.

I remember when the first post arrived at around 7.30am and the second post at about 11am.

DH is a postie. Most finish by 2.30 but some do a hybrid round where they start at 10 am, deliver until 4pm and then go straight onto collections until 6.30pm. Yours might be hybrid.

Ours delivers around 3-4pm, used to be earlier but I think we are now on a relief round, or overtime due to staffing issues in the office. I was a postie for a long time and I grew sick of hearing folk complain about arriving at 3pm with their seed catalogue or credit card transfer offer, businesses I can understand.

Usually before 9am.

DH’s office has a fixed delivery time of 9:30 - 14:30, anything after that is overtime. Some of his colleagues also do parcel collections, emptying the postboxes etc in the evening for extra cash.

Our postie comes around 1pm.

Around 2pm. Previous house they came before we left for work some days.

Late afternoon 2-4 we are very rural here, postman Pat van.

Late morning usually about 11 I'd say.

Around 3pm. Always has.

Usually around noon.

Around 11.30. But we live near the sorting office so he loads his pram up and goes.

My SIL was a postman for 20 years . When he started he used to start his round at about 6 am and finish around lunchtime . A few years ago there was a big shake up and they weren't allowed out of the depot before 9 am so was seldom finished before 4pm . Our post regularly comes around 2.30 pm nowadays .

I've no idea as I'm usually at work. Between 10 and 11 I think. My husband is a postie and starts work at 7, leaves depot at 9 and finishes about 3/4 usually. They have several rounds to do. Finishing between 6 & 8 due to Xmas/covid/staffing issues at the moment. Contracted hours are 8-2.

I'm a postie and I tend to do a different route each day. We have a frame of 4 rows (typically) and we start at the top left corner and finish at the bottom right. However sometimes we need to mix it up for example if I have a special delivery I need to be there by 1 so if it's at the bottom row I'll be late so I might go do there first. Most of my routes I organise around toilet stops to be honest, so I mix up the route to suit where they are. Just depends on how busy the post is really on any given day. Plus it gets boring doing the same route the same way every day for me anyway.

When ever they get here. Usually in the afternoon. Though one day last week we had post at 7am.

About 6.30 pm here. Annoying when you get a message from Royal Mail telling you like your parcel will be with you before 3.30 and then you still have to wait.
Its more annoying as they are building new unwanted houses in our town and I've noticed they get their deliveries before 10am!

11:30am ish. Used to be around 2pm at our last house.

Small village but shortage of posties. Used to be 8-10am and now 2-4pm for the last 6 months so I'm guessing this is now the new time
