A thread where we can have a moan if we want

I thought it might be useful. I don't know about you but I'm trying not to moan at home and to keep some kind of 'Christmas spirit' for the dcs benefit but it's all really rubbish isn't it, this unexpected turn of events with Omicron, and things getting cancelled. Have a little moan on this thread if it helps Smile

My FUCKING CAR threw up a fault code today that could be anything from coolant to air fan heater what the fuck ever ive no clue I've just spent £2000 fixing something else on it im so fucked off its unreal I need to get my daughter home in it IF she can get here for Christmas I can't see a way of getting ANYONE to look at it this side of Christmas and I'm just STEAMING

Theunamedcat · 19/12/2021 18:54

And I'm trying to keep positive for the younger kids but I'm utterly boiling over with rage about it I think I'm finally cracking up

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 19:05

That sounds so annoying Theunamedcat especially on top of everything else. I hope it turns out to be something small and cheap to fix.

Waiting for PCR results, OH was positive but mine not back. Was supposed to be having a lovely evening with friends exchanging gifts & i want to cry as it's now now happening. Will also be missing a night out on 23rd.oh, and of course Christmas is now looking very different as i won't be seeing my kids.

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 19:19

VittysCardigan I hope your OH isn't too poorly and that yours is negative. Waiting on a pcr here too and it's taking ages (obviously understandable but still) I was really looking forward to a party and a night out next week as well, both cancelled Sad That's difficult for you not being able to see your kids.

VittysCardigan · 19/12/2021 19:21

Thank you @PoetryPatty he's feeling ok thankfully. Sorry you're missing things too.

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 19:30

That's good. Thanks- it's rubbish isn't it after having looked forward to seeing people.

I'm in agony with a possible UTI and it's ruining everything. I need a break from everything, kids, work, moving house etc. Stress is wearing me down and I'm not even remotely excited about Christmas.

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 19:47

Poor you FairyWings4 UTIs are the pits I hope you can get antibiotics. I feel zero level of Christmassy too. It's not even that long now. Good luck with the move.

I've had really bad depression since the spring. I'm doing my best to appear cheerful for my young daughter but fuck it's hard, especially with all the endless covid misery. I just want to get this year over.

MrBigTiger · 19/12/2021 19:55

Excellent.

I've been feeling really miserable and depressed for a couple of months. No idea why, nothing in particular is wrong. Just sick of everything.

FairyWings4 · 19/12/2021 19:59

Thanks @Poetrypatty it felt good getting that out and venting a little bit!

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 20:17

It sucks doesn't it. Deep sympathy to those suffering with depression. All of this feels to have been going on ages and then Omicron coming along out of the blue when we were just starting to relax a little bit.

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 20:17

Glad it helped a bit FairyWings4

Iwasonline · 19/12/2021 20:19

I definitely need to vent. Both my kids have fevers - one is quite sick with a fever of 40.2.

I've cancelled an event with a friend tonight and possibly an event tomorrow night pcr depending

I've just found out one of my best friends has cancer and it's exam season for dh so the pressure is on

Sparklingbrook · 19/12/2021 20:19

I have 2 days off over Christmas . 25th and 26th, DH and my two adult DSs have from Christmas Eve until 3/1 off and I am feeling very envious.

Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 20:24

Iwasonline that's a lot to deal with. I hope your dcs are better very soon.

Sparklingbrook can see why you do!

My DH is a moody and uptight sod which spoils lots of days which would otherwise be lovely, tis very frustrating Sad

Rexthesnail · 19/12/2021 20:30

I've just had enough. I'm so so shattered and DREADING Christmas tbh. I'd rather just have a day to rest.

ratussbaguss · 19/12/2021 20:33

Yeah I want a whinge. I'm sick of taking scraps from life over the last two years and pretending I'm ok with it, everything is so hollow nowadays. I'm sick of my children being disappointed and upset and nervous and confused. I even struggle to watch tv shows made before the pandemic because it just makes me feel so sad to think about the beforetimes. Sorry end of rant

FoxgloveSummers · 19/12/2021 20:33

It’s my birthday today and despite some lovely bits it’s the second year in a row I’ve just spent the day utterly bummed out worrying about Christmas and sad I can’t have a party with all my beloved friends.

I know it’s small in the great scheme of things, but it’s very boring.

LadyCleathStuart · 19/12/2021 20:36

I just have a feeling of dread that we will be back to homeschooling in January. DH and I both trying to do our jobs plus homeschool 2 kids and act like fucking butlins redcoats everyday to make sure they don't get sucked into the Covid misery pit.

Happy Birthday Cake It's very hard to think that this time last year we genuinely believed it would be just the one Christmas that we would be forfeiting, never thought it would be two.
Poetrypatty · 19/12/2021 20:41

Please everyone rant away, we deserve it. I know what you mean ratussbaguss trying to keep positive but it wears you down in the end.
That sounds hard fruitypancake
I'd rather just have a day to rest totally!

Happy birthday to you FoxgloveSummers Cake

Yes. The thought of schools and January is a big worry. And the pressure of having to constantly be there emotionally for dcs in all of this.
