So you've been good kept everyone safe for Xmas Day. Now it's over, will you shop at the sales bag a bargain, book a table at a restaurant, visit the pub?

Yeah. I'd be doing all of that. Though I dont usually go to the sales.

Unless theres a lockdown?

IsDaveThere · 19/12/2021 00:26

I've been doing that anyway, shouldn't I have been?

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 19/12/2021 00:29

Probably won't be doing the sales as it's all a bit busy, but I will be meeting friends for meals out if possible. That's the big unknown for the moment, though. I am triple jabbed, wear a mask, clean my hands regularly.

No....because we will all ve in l9ckdown again from the 27th

Sales, online, in-house, everything everywhere. We're eating out Christmas Eve. I doubt we'll go out Boxing Day but if the offer is made, why not? I'm double vaccinated, boostered and flu jabbed. What's the point of all that if I then just have to stay at home. I see it as my civic duty to support the economy. 😉

toomuchlaundry · 19/12/2021 01:29

I don’t think we will have the choice

Civic duty to support the economy I like that. Will pinch it if challenged or see wittering on social media @madisonbridges thanks 💐

Now it's over... but it's only 19th now?
I don't normally do those things anyway. I'd do them if I wanted to, deffo.

Howshouldibehave · 19/12/2021 08:37

Has Christmas happened and I’ve missed it?!Grin

Reading the papers this morning, I think we’ll be back in lockdown after Xmas, so no.

BellaChagall · 19/12/2021 08:38

Going to an Indian restaurant with friends on Boxing Day and really looking forward to it. I'm not bothered about the sales.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 19/12/2021 08:39

Well DD is in isolation so my Christmas will only start then, however we will stay low profile, I prefer online shopping and take ways anyway.

Kbish1 · 19/12/2021 08:39

No I won't. We are trying to be really careful. Mum's funeral is on the 30th. We are already worrying about numbers being limited.

Non of us want to miss it because we have covid. So my brother and his family, my family and Dad are essentially bubbled together as best we can.

notacooldad · 19/12/2021 08:41

I dont usually do sales as I'm nit keen on shopping.
I go to the pub a lit. It's a great place for me to socialize so I will carry on if I am able to.
We are hoping to have a few days away over Christmas so we are waiting to see what happens next.

Pegasussnail · 19/12/2021 08:42

In Ireland so we can't go our After 8pm... only to mass GrinGrin

We will have nice day at home and I will shop online. No major plans at all. I need a sofa Smile but ikea might be my best option.

HelloDulling · 19/12/2021 08:45

I’ve got the theatre booked for the 27th, and I’ll have a look in John Lewis, for sure.

HangingOutWithTheSandman · 19/12/2021 08:45

No. We’ll be staying home other than having some nice walks planned with the dogs. I’m not vaccinated so I’m fine with not mixing much.

Lipsandlashes · 19/12/2021 08:46

Both of my DDs’ birthdays are before Christmas and they had money from different people. My parents and in-laws will also be giving them some money for Christmas, so we’ve promised to take them to Westfield between Christmas and new year to spend it. We’ll have lunch etc and make a day if it.

CirreltheSquirrel · 19/12/2021 08:49

Without a lockdown I'd definitely feel more comfortable doing stuff after Christmas - my booster will have had time to kick in and the risk of infecting vulnerable family members will be lower. I don't have any big plans which would be affected by isolation and it would be easier to get a supermarket delivery slot. So yes, i'd probably do more than I plan to do this week.

Scrooge89 · 19/12/2021 08:49

Yep need to get my wrapping paper and cards from John Lewis for next year 😂

PiddleOfPuppies · 19/12/2021 08:52

Absolutely. I fully intend to make the most of my freedoms while I'm still allowed them.

It's my birthday between Christmas and New Year and I have a restaurant booked. I plan to go the pub with friends during that period too.
But I suspect it will be like last year and we'll be on a 'circuit breaker' and looked down and it will all be fucking miserable again.

justasking111 · 19/12/2021 08:59

Six mum friends have booked lunch in town so we can have some me time on 30th. We can have a shopping mooch as well. Those of us with elderly family we shall be seeing on Xmas day so have felt obligated to be extra careful in the run up certainly deserve it
OP posts:
ChristmasRobins · 19/12/2021 08:59

I suspect it will be hospitality outdoors only, no indoor mixing. I am hoping
cinemas will be open as DD wants to watch Spider-Man on her birthday. Other than that, I’ll be carrying on as normal. I can’t stand the January sales so that was never on my to do list.

babybythesea · 19/12/2021 09:01

No. But nothing to do with Covid. I don’t ever do this anyway. It’s not my thing. I will be hitting the beach and the cliff paths with the kids and the dogs and then coming back and watching movies in front of the fire!
