So you've been good kept everyone safe for Xmas Day. Now it's over, will you shop at the sales bag a bargain, book a table at a restaurant, visit the pub?

If Omicron turns into the # hospitalisations forecast -- the Lockdown will be January 2021 all over again. Possibly March/April 2020 all over again (can't even meet a friend for a walk).

We are eating out on Christmas Day with family and friends. They'll be 10 of us. 8 are triple jabbed. 1 is double jabbed but not yet eligible for, booster due to being under 18. Other one is double jabbed, but has to wait a month for booster as just had covid.

Boxing Day I will be seeing family.
27th I will be seeing family.

No plans as such yet for after Christmas, but will be happy to eat out, go for a drink, etc if we are able too.

If we’re not locked down we will be heading out and making up for the reservations we cancelled this week in advance of seeing our families.

Once Christmas Day is over we have nothing left to lose. I’m perfectly happy to catch Covid from the 26th onwards. So I will be going out as I wish, probably more than I have done for a while. I have already booked a group dinner on the 28th and a party on New Year Eve. I plan to go to the cinema too.

Haven't done sales in person for years - always online & they tend to start before xmas. I've already done some sale shopping.

Will still eat out.

Last year we had a lockdown in London so got a massive takeaway from Wagamama on NYE, will probably do that again

languagelover96 · 19/12/2021 09:32

Probably not however I'm going for a festive lunch on Wednesday afternoon.

megletthesecond · 19/12/2021 09:33

No. I'm due my booster after Xmas and want the dcs back at school at the start of January.

Sadly this is why they will bring in a lockdown before NYE , because a lot of people will be happy to be more social after they have seen older relatives at Xmas and feel they have less to lose.

Don’t do the sales anyway.

But nursery is closed until 5 January so we’ll be going to play dates, soft play, swimming, museums etc. unless they’re all forced to closed in which case I suppose it will be stomping around playgrounds in the wind, cold and rain and seeing people outdoors like last January. I don’t know a single soul who adhered to the ludicrous outdoor rules last lockdown so I’m sure I won’t have a problem finding people to go to the park with if we have another one.

The one thing we won’t be doing is staying in the house all the time or keeping DC away from people.

As a granny with family who are working whilst we do childcare I quite enjoy muddy puddles again, but will be annoyed if we can't have lunch a snack out to thaw out afterwards

I'll do what we're allowed by then.
Depends more on restrictions and cash than covid!
