It sounds it. But I’m a sucker for all that.

Yup. Trained in it

And what science would that be then?
itwasntaparty · 18/12/2021 22:21

Yea. Absolute bollocks.

Are you getting to spout this crap across multiple threads or are you just very very bored?

ChequerBoard · 18/12/2021 22:27

🤦‍♀️ paid

It very much depends on the practitioner like all things. There are plenty of idiots out there who think they are a reiki master after two courses.
Like all things that are difficult to master they take years and years to perfect and most people have no talent for it.

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 22:36

I am curious to know if all those saying yes have ever experienced it? I am a practitioner and it certainly isn’t bollocks. My guess is that people are just deciding it’s bollocks whilst having no experience or understanding of it.

I’ve seen this kind of response to so many questions of this sort and it makes me very sad.

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 22:38

I agree however that there are good and bad practitioners out there. Some are not properly trained or experienced or lack ethics.

bowlingalleyblues · 18/12/2021 22:38

I’m sceptical but like trying alternative therapies. Have had various including reiki, and it was one of those that did have a noticeable positive effect. I’d like to think the person who I had the session with wasn’t thinking about their tesco shop!

Of course you’re going to promote it if you’re a ‘practitioner’; you’ve got people to fleece. It is complete woo bollocks though, as I suspect you know.
LookslovelyinSpringtime · 18/12/2021 22:41

I don’t fleece people. How rude and ignorant you are.

I take it as a ‘practitioner’ that you charge for this nonsense?

You do this for free, do you?

Not ‘properly trained’ in manipulating imaginary energy fields?
Veryverysadandold · 18/12/2021 22:59

I'm cynical but love reiki! Interesting a pp mentioned it's the asmr affect of being looked after. I also love getting my eyes tested, having scans at the hospital, etc, surely I'm not alone....

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 18/12/2021 23:04

It's huge in Germany. As is homeopathy.

EezyOozy · 18/12/2021 23:11

YES

HangingOver · 18/12/2021 23:18

BUT a fertility nurse offered to do some remote reiki on me after NHS embryo transfer. Her colleague told me she had a 100% success rate (at a procedure which was generally 1 in 3). I skeptically agreed....and it worked!

Of course it didn't "work".

Elieza · 18/12/2021 23:22

Yes it works.

Unfortunately there are lots of quacks who give it a bad name.

But it has worked on me. It’s weird because I can see a bright light when the therapist is working and my eyes are closed. Most bizarre.

thenightsky · 18/12/2021 23:22

he played some sensual music, put his groin very close to my friend and was generally very shit
Grin.

Bogeyes · 18/12/2021 23:36

Mumbo jumbo. You may as well hang onions round your neck on a full moon...

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 18/12/2021 23:49

I rationally know it’s bollocks but... when I had it ( went with a with a friend who regularly had it) I slept deeply for 11 hours that night. Just the best sleep of my life!
