Negative PCR.

How long did it last. Day 4 here and getting worse not better!

Yes. I’m afraid to say it lasted almost 3 weeks. It wasn’t Covid (according to tests).

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/12/2021 15:20

Yes but as a reaction to the booster.

Thefuturestory · 16/12/2021 15:20

3 weeks. Oh feck. I worked last Christmas including Xmas day and have lots of time off with children this year. Kleenex and lemsip instead of wine and mince pies then!

Yes and pregnant. Called in sick to work today for the first time in years. Feeling very sorry for myself!

Thefuturestory · 16/12/2021 15:21

My booster was back in October. I wasn’t great after that either.

Since catching what I’m convinced was Covid in may 2020 I’ve not been great health wise. I am ECV though

I’ve had it for over a week but had been pushing through, which in hindsight was stupid.

Olliphant · 16/12/2021 15:22

Did you feel sick? I was sick once, massive headache, chills, not keen to look at screens, sore itchy throat, tired.....been a week today.

nahnahna · 16/12/2021 15:23

I have just recovered from this and I was off work from last Wednesday. I only just feel okay and still have a very chesty cough so shouldn't really go outside.

I haven't been ill like that for a very long time !! Was nasty

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 16/12/2021 15:23

I had it for about a week. Covid PCR negative.

AnyFucker · 16/12/2021 15:24

I started with this 10 days ago and still not right yet. Razor throat, loss of voice, painful limbs, no appetite, flattened by a lorry feeling

I had time off work which is rare as hens teeth for me. Bloody awful. I have had Covid and is waaaay worse.

Knittingnanny · 16/12/2021 15:28

Yes! Sore throat ( low down on larynx) dry cough , headache , dizzy for a week now. I had covid 8 weeks ago so can’t do a pcr and I’ve had my booster. It’s far worse than the mild covid I had.
When I was teaching infants I used to get this every Autumn term but usually worked through it . Don’t think I would have been at school this week though.
It’s far worse at night and comes and goes during the day.
Hopefully if we are I’ll now we might be better by Christmas Day.

BlingLoving · 16/12/2021 15:32

Yup. And it came after endless rounds of getting every little bug the kids brought home. I didn't even realise how sick I had been until I started feeling better. About 10 days of feeling really unwell (the really bad sore throat was only about 5 days) and then another week of just the most insane cold where I felt like (TMI alert, stop reading if you're squeamish) there was an entire bucket of DD's slime somewhere at the top of my nose and I just had to keep working to get it out.

CrumpetStrumpet · 16/12/2021 15:34

I'm into my second week :( Had to take time off work last week, went back and now feel awful again. Really don't feel up to going in tomorrow but I'm scared to ring in sick:(

LaMariposa · 16/12/2021 15:35

Children have bought this home from school for an early Xmas present for us. Multiple negative LFT/PCR tests so we know it’s very unlikely to be Covid.
Thankfully paracetamol and rest helps with the worst of the symptoms, fingers crossed we are better soon.

SequinsandStiIettos · 16/12/2021 15:40

Second week. Negative PCR and lat tests. Cannot stop coughing.
If it was a reaction to the booster, Covid itself would have killed me.

Hbh17 · 16/12/2021 15:45

Yes, & it's still hanging on 7 weeks later! Lost my voice at the worst point. Not a reaction to booster tho. Been at work, of course, but made me so tired. Just one of those bad colds that sometimes happen.

PositiveLife · 16/12/2021 15:47

Yep 2nd week now. Had sore throat, aching muscles, really tired, coughing (particularly at night), bad sinuses, really snotty, crackly voice and really strangely itchy legs.
Negative lfts and pcr. Due my booster at the weekend.
Didn't want to take time off but feel like everyone thinks I'm being useless and unproductive Sad

Thefuturestory · 16/12/2021 15:51

I’m so sorry so many of you are ill or have been.

Wtf is this virus/bug? It’s nasty.

I’ve taken time off work today and planning to tomorrow too. I never have sick leave ( did 5 days for Covid when I was delirious and sleeping all the time) but then WFH.

I’m so bloody annoyed I’m ill. Luckily I’d gone early on wrapping etc I have a shopping slot for early next week. We’ll survive til then.

Same here, the coughing has finally stopped but I feel as if I've been hit by a bus. Never known fatigue like it.

Pinkcurtwinsinthebin · 16/12/2021 16:04

I’m into week 3. LFT’s frequently all negative. Week 1 thought something was coming and then though its not. Literally overnight I lost my voice, the worst sore throat I can remember, not really any other symptoms other than mucous down back of throat. Took paracetamol and ibuprofen literally every moment I could for at least a week, haven’t slept all night for two weeks, up nursing the sore throat at least an hour or more each night. Gargling with soluble aspirin helped a bit. Thought I was feeling better today and then felt awful out walking the dog. Came home did another LFT, that’s negative. Feel better having had a cup of tea and a bit of cake and a sit down.

Think I got it off 3 year old grandson, only second time I’ve seen him since October, when the first time I got a three week stinker off him too. Have decided not to see them before Christmas ☹️☹️☹️☹️

alloalloallo · 16/12/2021 16:07

Yes

Coming to the end of my second week with it. Am feeling a lot better today.

Cough is annoying, although it’s now productive and I’m mega snotty but it feels like “stuff” is finally starting to make its way out.

BobbieT1999 · 16/12/2021 16:08

Yes - took 3 weeks to recover. Feel better soon Flowers

languagelover96 · 16/12/2021 16:10

You are in my prayers

Dentistlakes · 16/12/2021 16:11

Yes. I’ve had it since the weekend. Negative PCR.

HidingFromDD · 16/12/2021 16:13

3 weeks for me, although got it about 3 months ago. Had to sleep sitting up for a week because if I lay down I drowned in my own snot.

Pretty much shake colds off in 48 hours and covid in 2 weeks (although was v v Ill with that)
