Is there a Christmas present you're particularly excited to give this year?

I've book a very cheap stay in a caravan park for myself, DH and DC's. First time away in months, and it's pet friendly, so we can bring our puppy away for the first time. Can't wait to see their faces on Christmas Day.

I've really splashed out this year (for me) and bought a new laptop for my mum. She's retired and has been struggling on an old one for a good 15yrs, it's practically inoperable.
She mentioned buying a new one only two days ago! I inwardly clenched!!!!
There'll be tears......💝

I got too excited to give my DP his present so gave it to him for his birthday earlier in December instead Blush
I bought him tickets for Hans Zimmer Live. He's a massive fan.

Tickets for Swan Lake for dd1, tucked into a vintage musical box which plays the dance of the swans music.

A hoodie for DS. He's been after it for months and thinks that you cant buy it in the UK (minecraft youtuber merchandise)

PinkyU · 14/12/2021 07:36

I’ve bought my oh an antique tantalus which got delivered yesterday, it’s beautiful and I can’t wait to see his face!

Maggiesgirl · 14/12/2021 07:37

DH bought a new motorbike this year, after 10 years without. Unfortunately his leathers no longer fit him. He decided a new pair were too expensive and that his waterproofs would do.
I've never liked him riding without leathers ( for the protection if he came off) so when DS & DDIL asked what to get him, we all decided to club together and buy him a new set.

As we are at theirs for Christmas Day,w will all get to see his face. They are already with DDIL so he has no idea.

It's a small thing - not his main present - but I am looking forward to seeing my DS's face when he opens a miniature collector's guitar that is a miniature version of his favourite and most played guitar. He's a professional musician and honestly this little miniature is going to really appeal to him.

I managed to find somewhere that would let my DP get up close and personal with the cars and drivers from his absolute, lifelong favourite type of motor racing. Unfortunately, its been cancelled due to covid. I ended up, by fluke, talking to the director of the team whilst organising a refund and it turns out their HQ is 4 miles from our house so they've offered to take him on a tour of HQ and to see all the cars and trophies etc as a way of apologising! I was dumbstruck when they offered.

yoshiblue · 14/12/2021 07:45

@dementedma Yes please, I'd love those tickets! Grin

I'm giving my son a Raspberry Pi 400 - he's 8 so looking forward to starting some coding with him!

Flatandhappy · 14/12/2021 07:46

DD is obsessed with a particular brand of hoodie that does irregular “drops” via social media. I totally fortuitously got my hands on the exact colour she wants - it would never occur to her that I would have done that so I am dying to see her face when she opens it on Christmas Day.

Subwaylunch · 14/12/2021 08:00

I bought life size cutouts of the Phelps twins (Fred and George Weasley in Harry Potter) as my 16 year old daughter is obsessed with them! They arrived yesterday and I gave it to her and she can’t stop hugging them!!

FireworkParrot · 14/12/2021 08:05

The paw patrol lookout tower for DD1. I probably shouldn't have bought it..... it's a massive bit of very expensive plastic but she's been desperate for it and asked Father Christmas for it. We had the conversation about it not fitting on the sleigh/Father Christmas only brings stocking presents in this house and she said maybe she could use Christmas money to buy it. I caved and have bought it from me and her dad and can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning.

My almost 2yo goes to a gym class that has a toy panda to encourage the kids to join in. He was only around for the first few lessons though and has gone now they're all more comfortable. DD adored this panda and always asks for him at the gym class so I've bought her one of her own, she's going to be so thrilled when she sees him on Christmas morning! Induction for DC2 is scheduled for 22nd December so I just hope I'm home from the hospital to see her face!

My db is an armed police officer and totally commited to the job. I saw one of those targets with the shape of an armed man on them in a junk shop, its all shot up with bullet holes, its about 5 foot tall and I think it will look really cool on the wall at the bottom of his garden, I think he will love it!

Bells3032 · 14/12/2021 08:48

Im expecting our first baby in Jan. One of dhs gifts is a t-shirt with darth vadar and it says "I am your father" and a matching babygrow saying "I am your baby" he's a massive star wars fan. I can't wait

BigGreen · 14/12/2021 08:51

These are so lovely Xmas Smile ho ho ho

MakingTheBestOfIt · 14/12/2021 08:55

DS - winter racing boots and gloves for his karting club. When he opens the boot box he’ll find a piece of card with details of the 1-2-1 training session I have booked him with a local karting champion. I managed to book it for the 27th, so not long to wait either.

Amazing, I would love that present!

That sounds amazing. Where is it?
RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 14/12/2021 09:03

Not this year, children all grown up

But i do table presents, just a small stupid thing, and i was so excited about ds1 and ds2 presents

Do ds2 got a ‘holder’ for his ben and jerrys that he loves, its made out of material with little ice cream cones and he loved it

Ds1 I was even more chuffed about, it was a stress ball (cos he is easily stressed) and it said ‘no I won’t keep calm and you can fuck off’ it was just perfect for him

HerbErtlinger · 14/12/2021 09:04

My DD wanted a Nintendo switch and I couldn't afford it and had a chat with her about it and she asked for something different. I got an unexpected bonus and was able to get it for her, it will be a surprise later in the day gift and I can't wait

LadyCatStark · 14/12/2021 09:05

It might sound daft but the gift I’m looking forward to the most is a set of agility equipment for our puppy 😂. Obviously he’ll have no clue it’s Christmas but jumping is his favourite thing on the world to do so he’ll love it and it’ll give us something to do as a family on Christmas Day as DS is 12 now so doesn’t have any toys to play with on the day.
