Is there a Christmas present you're particularly excited to give this year?

I've book a very cheap stay in a caravan park for myself, DH and DC's. First time away in months, and it's pet friendly, so we can bring our puppy away for the first time. Can't wait to see their faces on Christmas Day.

@LadyCatStark what pup have you got? We've got a 6 month old Border Collie, he'd love the agility set!

@Thorilicious he’s an 8 month old working Labrador 🥰. Here’s a pic of him jumping like the absolute loon ball that he is! I love border collies though, I love how they lie down and creep towards us when they want to say hello.

A car, tax and insurance for DD3. The first two DC's went to/ are in college and we paid fees and accommodation. DD3 left school this year and has a job, no interest in college but may do an apprenticeship. I have to bring her and collect her from work six days a week. She passed her driving test last week. She's saving hard to buy a car. She feels a little out because the other three are academic and she's not. Shes a great kid so helpful and kind and will definitely not expect to be given a car. I'm so excited for Christmas morning

I got my husband a brewery tour and tasting voucher, he is going to love it.

I also am really excited to give my MIL her gift, I saw a really lovely bracelet that is so her and I think she's going to really like it.

Oh what a lovely thread!

I always tend to do a late-in-the-day-unexpected-extra-present for DS. He seems genuinely shocked every year, the dope! This year it's a gaming monitor; I told him I was sorry but couldn't afford it and he was so sweet about it and said he'll save up his pocket money plus whatever christmas money he gets too. I KNOW he'll be so surprised and happy. Can't wait

2020nymph · 14/12/2021 16:54

@HelloCanYouHearMe

A hoodie for DS. He's been after it for months and thinks that you cant buy it in the UK (minecraft youtuber merchandise)

Which YouTuber and how did you get it please? My son would what Minecraft on YouTube all day if he thought he could get away with it!

TheresOnlyOneWayOfLife · 14/12/2021 17:00

This is ace Xmas Smile

I've got DS3 tickets to see Hamilton in Feb (hopefully)
He knows every word and action, its his latest obsession.
I did win the lottery for Hamilton tickets the other day but missed out by 20 mins as you have to claim within half hour.
Now waiting on a PCR so obviously meant to be!

ODFOgrinch · 14/12/2021 17:19

I've got DH a suitcase with a picture of his face on ( like the prize in House of Games). I think (hope) he's going to think it's hilarious! And also planned a weekend away so he gets to use it.

Mermaid blanket tail. My 4 year old has been asking very often and when we went to see Father Christmas recently she truly thought the present he gave her, was the mermaid tail. Her face was so sad when she realised it wasn't.

flashpaper · 14/12/2021 17:31

@HollowTalk he's in Manchester for one night in March. He's in London for two nights.

Auntieobem · 14/12/2021 17:36

I've got dd2 Bastille tickets ( she thinks I missed them) and dd1 will love the huge huge box of flying saucers....

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 14/12/2021 17:47

I got a funko pop personalised for ds, really looking forward to giving him that.

I managed to get some Dream SMP stuff made for dd, she loves them.

My other dd wanted a blow up unicorn suit and a pogo stick, which I've told her is daft and she's not getting them, but I have.

I got a bob ross toaster for my other ds, he has really quirky tastes so I'm excited about that.

My two younger ones have got a skateboard each and a ramp, which they have been wanting for ages.

iklboodolphrednosedpaindear · 14/12/2021 17:50

I've got DH a Lego bonsai tree. A fairly tricky build and it'll look great.

Thorilicious · 14/12/2021 17:55

@iklboodolphrednosedpaindear I got the bonsai tree too!

It cost about a fiver but my husband loves a song so much he plays it every day, plays it in every language and is just obsessed. Turns out there’s an alcoholic drink (I couldn’t tell you if it’s a beer, cider or what!) with the same name. I had to order it online but I’ve got it. It’s the least expensive gift but he will love it

Thorilicious · 14/12/2021 22:29

@Oopsoopsoops very curious what the song is....

That sounds lovely OP :)
My 2 year old loves going swimming and loves baby dolls. I googled "swimming baby doll" and it came up with a video that she watched of this Baby Born swimming doll. She wants to watch the video all the time, asks for the baby swimming video at least twice a day. Obvoously I'm getting her the baby swimming doll for Christmas. I don't think the realises it exists in real life!

These are all so lovely! My partner and I met this year so it's our first Xmas together. She is incredible, we are so happy. She loves maps and we both love to travel. I had a custom map of where we met made and had it framed. At the bottom the person who makes them usually puts the couple's name, date they met etc. Instead, I asked them to add the first joke my partner told me. I know she'll laugh so hard when she opens it. I can't wait to see her face!

DockOTheBay · 15/12/2021 03:07

@Kinsters

My almost 2yo goes to a gym class that has a toy panda to encourage the kids to join in. He was only around for the first few lessons though and has gone now they're all more comfortable. DD adored this panda and always asks for him at the gym class so I've bought her one of her own, she's going to be so thrilled when she sees him on Christmas morning! Induction for DC2 is scheduled for 22nd December so I just hope I'm home from the hospital to see her face!
Good luck with the induction! I wonder, have you considered mine Christmas day if you're not back? Just do it all on the 26th or 27th or whenever you get back. 2YO would have no idea of the date and it would be such a shame to miss her Christmas day :)
DockOTheBay · 15/12/2021 03:08

*moving not mine

ShippingNews · 15/12/2021 03:18

DS (31) often talks about how he wonders about our ancestry etc, so I got him a DNA test kit from My Heritage. I'm hoping he'll love it !

What a lovely thing to do, she'll be thrilled.
HerRoyalNotness · 15/12/2021 03:20

As a family gift I’ve bought a slushie maker, I hope it bloody works. They’ll love it. I’ll have to remember to freeze the moulds so they can make one straight away.

Happylittlethoughts · 15/12/2021 05:51

A Go Pro for my DP. He would never spend on himself. He'll use it fr Munro bagging .
