I took mine to the cinema and expected her to share her giant bag of popcorn. This was very unreasonable of me. Obviously.

DH and I were waiting for her to get ready so we could all go to town shopping, she told us last night she'd like to come, apparently she changed her mind and we should've known that.

Bunnyfuller · 11/12/2021 22:10

Didn’t let a CF woman push in front of me in supermarket without her asking. Said woman had slid in between me and DD and shoved her pack of mince, and grudgingly yelled ‘I only have this’. Lots of self service open, I would have offered if she hadnt shoved through, and as it turned out she only had cash at a card only till anyway!

But I was the baddy (and yes, I let her go first).

pisspants · 11/12/2021 22:10

I was asked to stop chewing my food earlier whilst she sat down and turned the tv on, apparantly the tv drowns it out 🙄

Bunnyfuller · 11/12/2021 22:10

Ps this is a fab thread and I think we should make it permanent.

  • Called his name. We were going out and I needed to ensure he had his required twenty five minute warning so he can put his shoes on at a glacial pace, with one hand while he watches his phone.
  • Took him to his football teams Christmas outing.
  • Exist.

It's utterly exhausting!

SylvesterTheCat · 11/12/2021 22:21

@Bettalife 😂😂😂
Touché

101 reasons, half of which I have no idea....

I made snowman pancakes for breakfast which she happily ate but apparently I did something wrong (I only made 1 snowman and also gave her 3 plain ones).

I was doing paperwork and money stuff with Scouts, and got a call that I was late home. It was the end of year party for my Cub section and then I had the paperwork to do, but Dd needed a salad from the city centre. 12 miles away.

I took her out as requested to collect the Christmas decorations from storage - I would have done it alone. Bu ti was taking too long go to get everything from the back of the unit.

The I took her to the city centre to get the food she "needed"...but needed someone to stay in the car (full of decorations) so agreed to go get her shampoo as she wanted to eat but ambled around boots having not visited in months....which took too long.

Cooking our dinner that she decided to have some, took waaaay too long (bought food was wrongly cooked by restaurant so apparently awful), and that was despite amending it so bacon wasn't added to the dish until after her portion was served so an extra pot to wash(due to me trying to speed it up amid not cooking bacon and mushrooms together as I usually would), there was also something about not using mushroom sauce but pesto Rosa (which she loved up to 2 weeks ago and never sent the memo it had changed).

They're the main ones just for today....

BiddyPop · 11/12/2021 22:25

Oh, and the row about her room is going on weeks, I ignore it but DJ is insisting she tidies it ...I'm not in so much trouble on that as I usually up just help and ignore mess but I took dirty washing off the floor last week and, oh boy, was with at the wrong move!

cantbeforeal · 11/12/2021 22:28

Thank you to this thread for making me realise my teenager is normal (he's not talking to me at the moment but I have no idea what I've done!!)

Ikeameatballs · 11/12/2021 22:33

I bought mine both regular tampons and super tampons. She had only asked for regular tampons but they were on offer. The act of having to carry two boxes of tampons upstairs was too much for her.

BigTwinkie · 11/12/2021 22:38

I told my beautiful daughter that she didn't need to make her eyebrows look like Dick Van Dykes in the film chitty chitty bang bang and that the whole giant eyebrow fashion is great maybe if you can do them properly but not if try it yourself after watching a how to you tube video that makes them look like this!!!...she's wasn't happy with the comment but now two hours later they are gone and we're having a giggle about it reading these comments... a little pencil liner on eyebrows is fine gals..no need for the thick marker pen look 😁

@teaandtoastwithmarmite

I'm reading these with amusement. My DD is 8 and has a huff every time she is asked to tidy her room because 'it will take like six hours' and her friend will have stopped playing Roblox by then Grin. Dare I point out if she kept it tidy it wouldn't take so long.
My child complaints that everything I ask her to do, like eat her dinner or tidy her toys^ will 'take ten hours^!'

She is three!

She sounds suspiciously like many of the teens on here... please tell me I have a few nice years ahead of me before she reverts to whining all of the time.

Least they're cute at three I suppose and as yet, she is not embarrassed by me Grin

Fatandfifty49 · 11/12/2021 22:44

Ds because his bike squeaks
Dd because we have been asking her to sort out her drawers since August

AnnieAreYouOkHun · 11/12/2021 22:48

I should have made him a drink even after me asking him if he wanted one and him saying no he'd already got one 🤷🏼‍♀️.

SpecialchildSupermum · 11/12/2021 22:51

Saturday is washing day here. I asked my teenager to remove all tissues from his pockets. I received the death stare and eye roll and was told he’s not stupid. Oh and I asked if he’d had any breakfast ? Silly mummy Grin

SpecialchildSupermum · 11/12/2021 22:54

I laughed at something funny on the tv

delilahbucket · 11/12/2021 23:14

Complained he never answers his phone when I need to speak to him. When I did manage to speak to him he was asked to get the plates ready for the takeaway tea I was on my way home with. He got bowls ready and was absolutely adamant that was what was asked.
Then I got a mood because I asked if he'd packed his bag for his dad's house.
Talk about a face on. He got over it when he ate his Chinese takeaway 😂

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 12/12/2021 13:02

I’d you want to read more like this. There is a huge thread in the classics thread section on this exact subject. It’s hilarious

JenniferWooley · 12/12/2021 17:18

I played I want a hippopotamus for Christmas and sung along badly on the way to his dads today

JustLikea · 12/12/2021 18:53

Whilst watching Frozen Planet he didn't find me at all amusing when I described him eating his food in the commentary style of David Attenborough talking about fighting reindeer

TheNightBefore · 12/12/2021 18:58

I shouted at her and confiscated her candles and lighter after she came in at 3am, lit candles, fell asleep and then at 2pm I could smell smoke 🤦‍♀️

TheNightBefore · 12/12/2021 18:59

Apparently I overreact ..

SnowyWinterFox · 12/12/2021 19:19

My older one is 12 but definitely teenagey.

Today he had a mega strop because his dad called the seagulls he feeds several times a day his 'adopted children'.

Apparently that was undermining DS's status as child and was the expression of a secret desire that his dad had that he preferred seagulls to him.

(TBF after a 30 minute metldown his father pretty much did prefer the seagulls. For me it did not take quite that long).

Puberty is a shit.

Hen2018 · 12/12/2021 19:26

Mine had a protracted strop the other day as I wouldn’t drive the 20 mile round trip to our nearest supermarket just for a fresh pot of basil.

Also annoyed with me that the alternative (oregano) has died back BECAUSE IT IS WINTER.

LynetteScavo · 12/12/2021 22:15

An hour ago I three away pizza that had been sitting in her bedroom since yesterday lunchtime. Apparently she fancies eating it now, is very upset, and muttering that I always throw away her foodHmm
