How have you upset your teenager today?

I took mine to the cinema and expected her to share her giant bag of popcorn. This was very unreasonable of me. Obviously.

My daughter got her shift wrong for work today. Thought she was on at 12 but she doesn't start until 5 - came home in a huff. Apparently it's my fault she didn't read the rota at her work properly 🙄😂

Inthesameboatatmo · 11/12/2021 18:40

That I need to stop mentioning dead memes and also stop straightening my hair to look young and cool , and also just stop dyeing my hair, embrace my grey and accept the fact I look like mother Gothel!!!!.
Mother Gothel indeed ffs .

My 14 is going over to his big brother’s flat tonight for a sleepover and hours of computer games. Big bro is cooking a curry for them both but DS2 is incensed because he wanted money put on his card (despite not having done the chores he was allocated today in return for this money) for something from Just Eat or whatever it’s called. You can imagine my reaction, I’m sure.

mumofEandE · 11/12/2021 18:42

I called her as she passed my bedroom (am ill in bed) to give her cash to buy raffle tickets / (soft!) drinks at her dance school's Christmas party tonight.

MintJulia · 11/12/2021 18:43

Hauled him out of bed to go to his 8am swimming class. Smile

He hates me for the first 10 mins of the day but is then in a really good mood for the rest, so it's worth it.

CooDeGrass · 11/12/2021 18:44

Also on the naughty step for breathing, apparently.

Aggravating factors seem also to include speaking and looking Hmm

hiredandsqueak · 11/12/2021 18:46

I've managed not to upset dd today which is a rare thing but she got up long after I did, I cooked her breakfast, she went back upstairs, I cooked her choice of dinner, she went back upstairs then when it got dark she came downstairs and is asleep on the sofa Grin

WildWombat · 11/12/2021 18:49

Blimey. I have a three year old and some of these reactions have all the rationality of a toddler! 😬 Please tell me there are a few years of joy in between the threenager and actual teenager stages?! #scared

olivo · 11/12/2021 18:49

I did her washing.

megletthesecond · 11/12/2021 18:53

I suggested he ate a banana and a Christmas tree crumpet. (He did though)

CooDeGrass · 11/12/2021 18:58

WildWombat if it is any consolation, my teens are usually very good company, and I generally find this stage much more fun than when they were toddlers.

But it’s the end of a long, hard term and they’re knackered. Plus…hormones

Undertheoldlindentree · 11/12/2021 18:58

Asked mine if she was OK.
Also if she wanted anything to eat.

Cue laser eyes and silent treatment for next hour Hmm

FlyingFlamingo · 11/12/2021 19:05

At least toddlers can be cute Grin

It was also my fault that she forgot to take her glasses to the cinema because I asked her to get ready to go ‘too early’ apparently

Fairylights25 · 11/12/2021 19:06

I parked too close to the school and everyone could see 'us' Confused

Fairylights25 · 11/12/2021 19:07

I also asked if she had lunch.

EveningPrimeMinister · 11/12/2021 19:08

I turned the lights off in her room while she was out. I figured she wouldn't need the ceiling light, two lamps, salt lamp and four sets of fairy lights on while she was at Amy's house.

Puffinhead · 11/12/2021 19:08

Touch wood, I haven’t so far today! (She only surfaced about 2pm.) But there’s still time Grin

ColettesEarrings · 11/12/2021 19:09

That I'm alive at all is apparently the embarrassment of the century...

CeeceeBloomingdale · 11/12/2021 19:10

By making her get up

furbabymama87 · 11/12/2021 19:11

Opened his bedroom door and picked up rubbish off the carpet. Apparently I was hiding his laptop, games, charger...

PanicBuyingSprouts · 11/12/2021 19:11

I cooked a curry she had asked fir earlier in the week. Apparently I should know that she now doesn't like the curry abs it was unreasonable of me to cook it.

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 11/12/2021 19:13

I put my coat on. Apparently it's too 'loud' and embarrassing.

FlyingFlamingo · 11/12/2021 19:14

I love the idea of putting a coat on ‘loudly’ Grin

@EveningPrimeMinister dd has thwarted my light switching off habit by having smart bulbs in her room which necessitates in me texting her to tell her to switch the lights off. This is apparently annoying and embarrassing.
She also sets her light to come on at 7.06 on school days, waking her before the light comes on is a guaranteed way to have her huffing and stomping about as is waking her 7.08 which is too late and means she has no time to get ready.
