I took mine to the cinema and expected her to share her giant bag of popcorn. This was very unreasonable of me. Obviously.

Took him for a pcr test as his younger brother has just tested covid positive!

PermanentTemporary · 11/12/2021 19:22

Didn't go to my boyfriend's last night, so that he had to tell me his possible girlfriend/ex-girlfriend/good friend/person of desire was staying overnight.

Thinking about it, I really don't do enough to annoy him.

frasersmummy · 11/12/2021 19:24

Told him.to put a jacket on to go ice-skating as it was raining.. mum I'm.16 I can make my own decisions..then complained his hoody was wet and why hadn't I told him to wear a jacket. When I pointed out I did he told me I should have insisted like a proper parent. Take it off and put the dry jacket on I brought..its in the boot ..cue eye rolling and saying I though I was so clever didn't I?

Lifebegins21 · 11/12/2021 19:25

Took him for a festive high tea at 3.30pm. It was a large inconvenience for him since he had only had 5 hours to to play his new Halo game Hmm

autumnboys · 11/12/2021 19:30

Suggested that 1 slice of toast with chocolate spread for breakfast and a packet of crisps for lunch might be why he is tired all the time. Made him take a banana to work. OH THE HUMANITY!

MynameisWa · 11/12/2021 19:37

Said hello to her when she opened the car door to get in when I picked up up from work. ‘Why are you shouting mum???’

dancemom · 11/12/2021 19:39

Said I wasn't sure if I could watch a movie with her tonight as I was tired and wanted an early night.
Apparently going to bed early is selfish when it impacts her 🙄

whenwillthemadnessend · 11/12/2021 19:43

She asked me to teach her to crochet.
I tried. She tried for 15 mins. Managed a chain stitch. Which is great. Then flounced off as it was too slow and difficult leaves me with wool all over flor to pick up.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 11/12/2021 19:44

I asked her to pick up her bag which she had dumped in the hall and unpack the smelly remains of her packed lunch from yesterday also dumped in the hall

megletthesecond · 11/12/2021 19:44

wild FWIW my teen isn't horrible. Just hilariously huffy about things. I have to look away so I don't smirk.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 11/12/2021 19:44

I laughed at the noises he was making sorting his laundered washing out from my washing. Ah, lifts PE top, oh, inspects my t shirt, Ah, Oh, Ah etc..

It was so funny but not to him 🤣

louisethedisease · 11/12/2021 19:45

I got my dd up early for a hike in the Peak District. It was the end of the world and she moaned around the whole route. I offered to take her for hot chocolate afterwards but she just wanted to get home.

maryzx · 11/12/2021 19:47

I didn't answer the phone immediately, and should have done, because I "don't do anything else". I then failed to give her the £50 that she owes to her best friend. I am evil personified.

Receptionclass · 11/12/2021 19:53

@louisethedisease to be fair to her, that sounds hellish in rainy windy cold December!

Iheartmydog · 11/12/2021 19:55

21 year old DS - yes I know he’s not a teenager but he must be an extremely late developer.

Asked him to get his GF to move her car back a bit so I could get my car out at 8.30am. Both were awake as DS GF needed to leave herself at 9am but apparently I was ‘thoughtless’ as I might have needed to wake them.

I asked him to take DD to work as she started at 12. Because he had his gaming headset on and could only grunt a reply at me he thought DD needed to leave at 12, not that she starts at 12. I’m unreasonable as I’m not clear enough.

I bought a huge pizza for him and GF to share. Why? He asked, GF is not here. Ok you can eat it yourself. Are you hungry? Yes, starving. But apparently I’m dull because I didn’t check first. As it wasn’t being cooked quickly enough he stamped downstairs to put it in the oven himself. Cue loads of huffs and sighing.

TWENTY ONE!! FFS I thought he’d have completely passed through this stage by now!!’

Thepowerofthelook · 11/12/2021 20:00

Got up early to take dc to work and my crime I tryed to have a conversation while in car together apparently this is why he never spends time downstairs with family because we all talk!

Lennybenny · 11/12/2021 20:05

I cooked Chilli for dinner...ds doesn't want to be needing a 💩 before football tomorrow.
Same ds going ballistic over internet lag when he's the only one playing online (it's an issue with the area and the line) we have the same argument EVERY TIME which is literally every week fml. He knows its nothing to do with me but its still my fault the net is bad...

Muchmorethan · 11/12/2021 20:06

Rang the DS doorbell ( they have flashing doorbells in their rooms so l don't have to keep shouting if l need them)... to tell them dinner was ready.

Apparently still putting the bolognase on top of the spaghetti when DC arrived meant it wasn't ready and he'd have to wait AAAGGGES

I'll come with you next time, and leave my teenagers at home.
PyongyangKipperbang · 11/12/2021 20:11

Walking me early for a hike on a day like today...well any day actually, would have recieved a loud and firm FUCK OFF from me at any age! I am with the DD on that one!

I took 16 year old DS at his word when he said he didnt want dinner. So I didnt serve him any and froze the leftovers. This was unreasonable as CLEARLY what he meant was that he did in fact want dinner and I should have just plated it up and left it for him to microwave later. So then it was my fault that he would have to eat something else which just happened to be the ingredients of an entire meal planned for later in the week....no chance matey we have bread and beans...knock yourself out.

Worst. Mother. Ever.

Oh and the fact that I did feed his sister (on the basis that she said she wanted dinner) proves my complete favouritism of her over him.

Pickles89 · 11/12/2021 20:13

@Lushplease Green mohawk?

to be fair that would make me moan
WomblingKnobhead · 11/12/2021 20:14

Mentioned that her new skirt was the same pattern as my tea towel...and held said tea towel over my pelvis for effect. Also (in my defence) said "I like it"

On reflection possibly it wasn't as funny as I found it. 😆

nahnahna · 11/12/2021 20:20

I asked if he could remove his headphones and stop walking around doing stuff whilst watching stuff on his phone. Apparently that's a totally unreasonable request

QueenofLouisiana · 11/12/2021 20:20

I've barely seen mine today, so all is peace and harmony here today. (May also be linked to the lift he wants to the cinema on Monday.)

Yesterday, however, I was embarrassing for not understanding the text "mate lift?". I wondered if the mate needed a lift or if he was getting a lift with a mate. The fact that he had to communicate with me twice wasn't good enough.
