We've been married for 42 years.
Unfortunately mil died a few days ago and we have been looking at her collection of photographs.
I grew up over 10 miles away from dh.
One of the photos shows dh playing football at my local youth centre and there is ME in the background watching my dB play.
He remembers coming to my YC in a tournament with his YC.
Happy days.

This is really lovely

But I was fully expecting it to be a “pineapples grow on the ground! the channel tunnel doesn’t actually go through the sea! centre parcs isn’t under a huge glass dome!” thread

Lovely Smile

I'd love to know if myself and dh crossed paths. We lived either side of a big city and went to the same pubs and clubs so we must have done at some point.

AChickenCalledDaal · 10/12/2021 20:50

Thats really sweet- what a lovely surprise.

My parents met while working in a university. My FIL went to the same university and is about ten years younger. We've been married 26 years but only very recently figured out that they were all there at the same time - very possibly FIL had lectures in the same building where they worked.

Furthermore, DH and I also met while studying at the very same university (yes it was that sort of institution!)

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 10/12/2021 20:53

that's so sweet!

Turns out DH and I were briefly in the same class....my family moved into married quarters while my parents looked for a house, and I was in a small Dorset Junior school for about eight weeks.
We also went to the same senior school but he was the year ahead, the junior school was mixed classes.

Centerparks isn't under a big glass dome?! Shock Well that's ruined that image for me!

"the channel tunnel doesn’t actually go through the sea" I beg your pardon?!?!
Enko · 10/12/2021 21:11

Love it

Doboopedoo · 10/12/2021 21:24

I got halfway through and thought you were going to be related, glad that wasn’t the ending!

I once found a photo of DH at a festival in his late teens and I swear it’s my tent in the background. We didn’t meet for another ten years.

LostThePot · 10/12/2021 21:26

That’s sweet Smile

Now picturing the channel tunnel as a huge bridge even though I know it’s under the sea Grin
Puffinhead · 10/12/2021 22:05

Honeypickle · 10/12/2021 22:27

Doesn’t the channel tunnel go under the sea??!
Lovely story though OP!

Fifthtimelucky · 10/12/2021 22:35

Lovely story.

I remember when my mother first met my prospective mother in law and they discovered that they had both worked for the same employer in the same building in London during the war.

Karwomannghia · 10/12/2021 22:38

It goes under the sea bed!

flashy44 · 10/12/2021 22:54
