I can’t fathom what I’m seeing. She has literally got a new face? It’s hurting my head

I’m more shocked people thought Madonna was going to age naturally. Her provocative photos are extensions of her art, always have been and always will be. She’s a cultural icon regardless, whether she has surgery or not. Never been a huge obsessive fan but I do like her a lot.

Personally, i don't think it has anything to do with her age. The awful 'sexy' picture book she brought out when she was young was so cringey, and anyone who feels the need to completely change their face at any age is sad imo.

Not true. Yes, she’s always forcefully pushed her body and sexuality as an integral part of her brand, but even that was pretty groundbreaking back in the day - whatever you think of her music, she literally gave no fucks and no quarter when it came to living life and building (and fully controlling) her career on her own terms. She was a total Viking, the embodiment of girl power before that was even a thing.

So yeah, it’s sad to see her scrabbling so desperately for attention with stuff like this, but coping with ageing, and the associated fear of becoming irrelevant, is bloody hard yards for all post menopausal women, let alone some who’s spent her entire life in the spotlight. Plastic surgery and posting weird arse pics is not how I choose to cope, but I’m certainly not going to knock her for it.

I don't care about her getting her ass and tits out all this time - this is Madonna, she was never going to age gracefully. I did think she'd be able to afford a better plastic surgeon though. One of her eyelids is droopy and she sometimes struggles to fully close her lips when she talks.

The photos are heavily filtered though. In a way, I feel sorry for these women who are in the public eye and feel the need to have to constant surgery to stave off ageing but on the other hand, they're also the ones who are feeding the beast.

Whether you like commenting on womens looks or not, yu have to admit, she looks NOTHING like Madonna anymore, and shame on the surgeon who did this. And Debbie harry DOES look way better, and is over a decade older too. YANBU @Amandasummers

Well, tbf, she's done that too when she was married to Guy Ritchie.

I don't think there's anything outrageous and exciting or trailblazing about changing your entire face (badly) through surgery or fillers though. She's just following the crowd in that respect.

Debbie Harry was always 'old' in showbiz terms. She was in her early thirties when Blondie were at their peak fame. She remains an icon.

She looks much more like herself and her age IRL, without the filters. I'm delighted that Madonna is still pissing people off with her art after all these years.🤩

At one time she was the coolest girl in the world and now she is just embarrassing.

Can't really compare her with Debbie Harry. They are more than a decade apart in age. Different generation

But she does look very odd

I think she's finding it hard no longer being the world's most influential pop star. She had a good long reign but now the likes of Gaga and Eilish have taken over and she's been sidelined somewhat. And I think this is a reaction to that. For years she's tweaked her face but still looked very much like herself but now she seems to have done a 'fuck it, gimme that Insta face that the 25 year olds have'.
