My very silly bucket list

Forget swimming with dolphins and climbing Mount Everest - what are the silly things you've always wanted to do in this life?

Mine:

1. Smash my face into a huge cake (not done yet)
2. Put my hair in a ponytail and cut it off (done and not as satisfying as expected)

And you?

Order just a £40 bottle of champagne for Tesco to deliver on my birthday. Did it and enjoyed it. I may try the cake one. Like the sound of that

I’d like to sleep in the little bed in the cabin of a massive HGV.

I would like a high-vis jacket, some huge headphones and a pair of light-up table tennis bats, please.
Then I could wave my bats at a massive jumbo jet and have it taxi along after me, obeying my every gesture.

I also fancy learning how to balance a basket on my head so as to be able to leave Sainsbury's carrying my shopping with grace and elegance.

Tell any annoying neighbour you may have to "F* OFF" nice and clearly and loudly.

I did this last week, it was amazingly cathartic and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I highly recommend it if you are ever in a situation where you need it.

It was especially gratifying as the neighbour concerned is a little smartarse with small man syndrome !

Don't do this unless it is a modern lorry with a LARGE space - many (25ish) years ago I slept in one, I can assure you it is utterly claustrophobic. Freezing cold in winter and like an oven in summer (nowadays they do at least have heaters!)

I don't think I really have much on my bucket list. Maybe if I were terminally ill that would focus my mind.

Things I'd love to do = be a grand parent, see the Norwegian fjords, the Northern lights, go ski-ing again (only went once when I was 25).

I want to drive DD to school on her last day. We live opposite the school

Make a batch of cake dough and eat it raw.

I also want to swim in lego.

Walk down the street, balancing a massive ghetto blaster on my shoulder, playing some amazing tunes, with everyone turning round and loving it / looking admiringly at my coolness. Admittedly, this is my dream from the 80s and it’s been more than 30 years that I’ve wanted to do this but… maybe one day!

Get into a taxi and yell, "Follow that car!" at the top of my voice

Take part in a Death Star style chase (I've had to settle for laserquest)

Do that skydiving indoor thingie

Dance on top of a table

Do a standup comedy course

Spend the night in a haunted castle

Stay overnight in a lighthouse

Stay in a Scottish castle overnight

On my last day at a job pretend all our phone lines have been cut off and I'm a robot (no real customers will be harmed in this call)

Write a Mills and Boon (that's kind of half way between silly and serious, if only I could crack the formula!!)

Write a crime novel (actually that one's serious)

And a few other serious ones like see the Northern Lights, visit New England in the Fall, go into the desert with the Bedouin, and see the Rockies. Though this has actually made me realise I've somehow managed to do lots of the things I wanted to so far in life, amazingly.

I have a bucket list - one of mine is to go in one of those rotary car washes, the ones with the flying mops. I’m far too terrified to go in one on my own.

I've done the drink throw. It was at a rave in the 90s, when a nasty little racist opined that the reason Stephen Lawrence was murdered was because he had been a drug dealer.

It was satisfying (in retrospect, I'm lucky he didn't lamp me).

We have a 10' easyset pool that we put up in the summer. I'd like to fill it with Orbees and jump in on a baking hot day. Actually, I'd like it to be bigger and deeper, and fill it with Orbees and jump in on a baking hot day!

I'd also like to run across a pool of oobleck.

I want to go drifting in a car on a track, and I want to drive it, not be driven.

I would like to drive a huge digger, one of those ones we watched on megastructures or something like that when the dses were little. Taller than a house type things😎

Along the same lines, I’d like to drive one of those monster cranes but I’m not sure drive is the right phrase as they seem to be transported on the back of lorries.

Id like to operate a wrecking ball as well.

And press the demolition button to raze a building to the ground.

I didn't realise that I wanted to do the face cake smash until now.

I want to ride a jet ski.

And go to an observatory and look at the stars.

I’d like to see the northern lights.

I’d love to drive an Aston Martin.

I really want to go to an auction and ideally have a go at being an auctioneer. I'd love to front a band and be lead vocalist.

I love to do some serious hill walking (children too small and I don't know anyone else to go with. I went to the Lakes as a teenager with school and adored the long hikes and camping).
