Just received the email and can’t believe another year has come around again so quickly. At first glance it is looking tough!

Need to settle down with a cup of tea and get started.

Anyone else attempting (and happy to share clues?! Wink )

OP posts:

Darn it can’t get that one only words could think off was home and spirits

MorbidMuch · 20/11/2021 23:42

You're very close. A different word than home.

MorbidMuch · 20/11/2021 23:45

@ClaraSais

And why does everyone keep mentioning a nun I can’t find her lol
This nun.

I got it thank you and I found the nun ;) It’s just the man with the stop sign and the painters
Greytminds · 21/11/2021 03:38

Thank you all for introducing me to this. Perfect for passing the time whilst holding a sniffly newborn! 5 so far….need to RTFT for some clues!

Glad that helped. Smile

Man with stop sign: I got this one via the clues on this thread and Googling based on the film adaption. The answer was a book I am very familiar with, but would never have got from the picture alone.

Imagine it's what someone might say to the stop man if they were happy to be be prevented from going. Four word book title.

Painters: I got this one through a lucky guess. What do you call the type of art they are creating? Two words.

LavenderAskew · 21/11/2021 06:59

National Book Token's Facebook page has clues too (and possibly on Twitter).

The man with the stop sign contains a word that if you know the book you'll get it immediately. I wouldn't have got it from the picture.

LavenderAskew · 21/11/2021 07:00

Sorry, I meant the clue for the man with the stop sign contains word.

LiveintheNow · 21/11/2021 09:39

Just can't get Paradise Boulevard, help please!

ChessieFL · 21/11/2021 09:41

@LiveintheNow just think of alternative words for both the words in that clue. It’s a book by someone who shares his name with a famous comedian.

LiveintheNow · 21/11/2021 09:47

Thank you, I have tried so many combinations, finally found another clue and got it! I thought it would be a book I knew.

Greytminds · 21/11/2021 11:04

I’ve managed to work out all of them apart from the bookshop….no one has mentioned it here as far as I could see from skimming the thread….is it obvious and I’m just not getting it?!

GiantKitten · 21/11/2021 11:21

What day of the week is the date on the board?
Book is by celebrity with same name as shop.

GiantKitten · 21/11/2021 11:22

(Those 2 words will find it on Google Smile)

Greytminds · 21/11/2021 12:02

Thanks @GiantKitten - the penny dropped just after I posted !!

ClaraSais · 21/11/2021 12:55

Thank you @MorbidMuch and @LavenderAskew
I’ve been up all night with an ear infection so feeling rather poorly in bed x

ClaraSais · 21/11/2021 13:05

I’ve got them all now apart from Paradise Boulevard

Trumpton · 21/11/2021 16:01

@ClaraSais
Paradise Boulevard

Another word for paradise …not used often these days.
Boulevard is a tree lined road the English equivalent is an A*
Written by a man better known as a comedy actor.

Thank you - still not got it gahhhhhh lol

LavenderAskew · 21/11/2021 16:20

Look up synonyms of paradise.

Put each on into Goodreads and it'll give you options. When you put the right synonym in one option will be very obviously the answer!!

ClaraSais · 21/11/2021 16:20

Okay got it now gosh that was hard work for my pea brain never heard of the book Grin

ApolloandDaphne · 21/11/2021 17:52

I can't get the babies in the oily puddle.

ApolloandDaphne · 21/11/2021 17:57

And I can't get Taras Caramels either. Then there is a final one that I obviously just can't see.

LavenderAskew · 21/11/2021 18:01

@ApolloandDaphne

I can't get the babies in the oily puddle.
It's water, not an oily puddle.
