Close your eyes! It stops your reflex to pull back. You don’t wanna do that!

TheSparkling · 06/11/2021 12:13

Do it do it do it.

I am considering it right now and have been for a couple of weeks.

Asparaguspatchkid · 06/11/2021 12:13

Take some painkillers half an hour before, it's not the most comfortable!

Blow out when they pierce.

I’ll keep you posted on how it went! I’ve wanted it done for years but never had the courage, but then dh commented a few weeks ago saying he reckons it would suit me, so i thought why not?!

Don’t worry, it’s all over really quickly! Just remember to get some aftercare stuff from your piercer and keep on top of cleaning it so it doesn’t get infected.

Ah yes! I had the rook part of my ear pierced a few years ago and remember them asking me to do that!

I’m having my conch done too, but more nervous about my ear!

Left or right, OP?

Innatenvi · 06/11/2021 12:17

Just be calm. I found mine the least painful of all my piercings and my eyes didn't even water!

Your piercer will probably give you a tissue as your eyes will probably water.

Re aftercare - don't be tempted to keep playing with it, leave it alone & just use the saline spray twice a day. If you mess with it too much, you'll get a bump and you definitely don't want that!!

Thanks! It took nearly a year for my piercing to heal, but apparently that’s normal for it.

I don’t want the dreaded bump on my nose I’ve been reading about

Left, I’ve heard it’s more feminine and traditional. Also I’m left handed soo think it might be easier to clean etc. why, what you thinking?

Ooo how exciting.

I got mine done 6 months ago and I’m in my 30s. I love it no regrets.

Actually it’s just about healed and I can change it finally. It was definitely a faster heal than ear cartilage.

Hairyfriend · 06/11/2021 12:23

Buy emla cream- a local anaesthetic cream and put on 1hr beforehand. I had a belly piercing years ago and felt nothing at all.

Cool! That’s good to know 😀

Did they put in a small stuff to start with? Did you get much choice?

Thanks! Do you know of any Highstreet shops that might sell it?…. To late for internet

I really struggled with the fluid filled bump next to the piercing and not healing. I was prescribed an antibiotic cream for acne, then the nose bump disappeared! I guess it worked well on the bacteria and infection in the bump too.

Mol1628 · 06/11/2021 12:29

Yes I had lots of colour choice and different sizes. I went for a plain ball to begin with but they had plenty of choice.
You want to make sure it’s titanium and obviously make sure it’s done with a needle not a gun.

I wouldn’t recommend a numbing cream. It doesn’t hurt that much and the piercer will clean up all the area beforehand anyway so would wipe it all off.

offyougotwantychops · 06/11/2021 12:30

I missed read your conch for crotch...thought nose is the least of your worries! I got mine done so many moons ago, I can't remember much about it, so no advice, but it was very quick, and had no problems with it.

seb342 · 06/11/2021 12:31

I had mine done a few months ago and it was the least painful piercing I've had done. I ordered some Prontolind spray from Amazon to help with the healing and it's been fine.

AlexaShutUp · 06/11/2021 12:36

My dd had hers done a few months ago. I didn't want her to do it tbh, but it's her nose and it does actually suit her. She was absolutely fine, don't think it was too painful and it healed very well. I think the main thing is to go to a good salon and choose a good quality metal for the stud. Good luck!!

LaBellina · 06/11/2021 12:39

I’m jealous op. Always wanted one but somehow I don’t dare. From my own experience with piercings: relax. And stay in the chair if possible for a minute or two afterwards. I have nearly fainted after getting my tongue and navel pierced (not at the same time Grin).

I had my rook done at the same place and they’re fab!! Very good reputation. Needless ask the way too
