just curious -- left or right is a thing you need to decide.
I believe I had right done just because most people get left done.

I love piercings! YY to PPs who say titanium and needle not gun, this is the most basic and important (IMO)

Are you getting a stud or a hoop? (I know some people including my DC like to start with a hoop) If it's a hoop it will be a bigger one than you would usually use to allow for swelling.

I would also leave the initial jewellery in for at least 8 weeks before changing to make sure it's fully healed (also use Protolind spray as PP recommended, not salt water or surgical spirit and the spray is easier to use too).

I think piercings are addictive, like tattoos, so it may get expensive Grin (that might just be me, a lot of things are addictive to me Blush)

🤣 So far I have 5 on one ear and 6 on the other but the only things I wear are top off ear and rook, and conch when it get it done later. I have to be quite conservative as I’m teacher, so can’t have facial piercings really. I’m paying it with the nose, so I’ll get the smallest, inconspicuous stud I can and then change to a hoop on holidays

I have two conches and they were the least painful and quickest to heal.
I have 7 cartilage piercings but single lobes!

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 06/11/2021 14:39

Don't wear mascara it makes your eyes water 🤣

KezzabellaB · 06/11/2021 14:43

If you're planning on eventually wearing a ring, take this into account when deciding where to position it. I had mine done many years ago and it's too high up to wear a ring which makes me sad! 😔

1forAll74 · 06/11/2021 14:48

I can't see how a nose piercing would suit anyone, It seems a pointless invasion of an important facial feature.

FindingMeno · 06/11/2021 14:56

My tips are to go solid titanium then do not fiddle about with it.
I'm after conch next. Such a pretty piercing!

InnPain · 06/11/2021 15:17

Go for it but when you ever decide you no longer want to wear it… it’s quite a visible hole in your nose but that’s about it 🙂

SpeckyWithTheGoodHair · 06/11/2021 15:30

Mine had to be done twice as he thought the needle had gone through into the retainer thing, but it turned out it hasn't.

Apparently I have very tough nose cartilage. It really hurt but reading the comments on here I'm in the minority!!

SendARavenToRiverRun · 06/11/2021 16:24

@speckywiththengoodhair. I've had mine down twice. Once with a gun as a stupid teenager. I fainted after and once with a needle. It was beyond painful each time. Looked beautiful though. Not only you with a tough nose lol.
OP, don't fiddle is my top tip. It'll look fab. Good luck 👍

Pinkstegosaurus · 06/11/2021 16:28

I love mine so much! Felt like I’d been punched in the nose afterwards but it was fine! I did get the dreaded bump after 6 weeks after that lasted a month or so and then disappeared completely. I used boiling hot water with a dash of salt as a compress that helped just in case you do get one!

Thanks for that.

I'm just off to The Doghouse topic to say dogs are shit and I hate them.

VerbenaGirl · 06/11/2021 16:35

I drank 2 cans of Tenants Super before I had mine done, but those were simpler times (90s)! No problems at all.

WreckTangled · 06/11/2021 16:44

I've had mine done three times. Twice it's healed up and you definitely couldn't see where I'd had it done so not noticeable if you decide to take it out. Should always have it done with a bar first, never a hoop.

I agree it's not painful and over so quick, definitely one of my least painful piercings. My piercer advises not cleaning and just allowing water to clean it as you shower then ensuring it's dry with paper towel (not loo roll or cotton buds as the small bits can get stuck to the piercing). I'm sure your piercer will give you their best advice.

I found it painful to laugh for a few days after Grin

Mol1628 · 06/11/2021 16:59

My piercer advises neilmed saline spray it’s fantastic. That’s what I’ve healed mine with. Your piercer may sell it or you can get it on Amazon.

MsWalterMitty · 06/11/2021 17:01

Thanks all!

I’ve had them both done and I love them! 😀 The nose definately hurt more than the conch… like stung. I didn’t get that same feeling with my ears, so it was a different type of pain.
Not sure what work will say as it’s pretty obvious!! 🙈

Yeah, they had it there. She used it before piercing and then I bought some, thanks for the recommendation

I had mine pierced 10 years ago and it's never caused me any issues at all! Do it do jt

MsWalterMitty · 06/11/2021 17:13

I just rubbed my nose, completely forgetting about it! Fuck that hurt!!! I guess that’s going to happen a lot 🙄

I've considered having my nose pierced and just haven't ever got beyond that point! May I ask how much it cost? ££ isn't a factor but I'm just curious. Thanks

WreckTangled · 06/11/2021 17:31

Mine was £30.

Oh no OP! Now you have to hope you don't get a cold in the next few weeks 🤧

Mol1628 · 06/11/2021 18:59

Wow fantastic glad it went well. What jewellery did you pick?

Betty000 · 06/11/2021 19:04

Cool. A few months ago I got my nose pierced then a few weeks later got my septum pierced, I love them both! Keep up with saltwater bathing, and make sure you you rotate it occasionally.

SaborDeSoledad · 06/11/2021 19:14

I love mine, I thought I was the wrong side of 30 and too boring to have it but I haven't regretted it at all... Apart from not doing it sooner!

@Percypigg I paid £25 3 years ago.
