I started quite a sad thread a few days ago and i’d like to lighten the mood Smile
I’ll start. My new watercolour paints came and bumped into niece while out, she gave me some of her sour toffees bless her GrinSmile
Then went home and had a bath but not before I made a tomato soup, ready for tomorrow.
SmileFlowers Hope you’re all doing dandy.

I had a very crap day and started a thread on here, and now I feel comforted and supported by hundreds of wonderful internet strangers who took time out of their lives to make my crappy day a bit brighter. I love it here sometimes.

Imaybeacat · 01/11/2021 20:55

Me too, lovely to have a space like this and talk about what’s on my mind . Husband is not living with me at the moment, complicated situation as we are also ttc but I’m starting to think that no luck will avail. Think I should settle down eventually.

Flowers I hope things work out for you op.

What are you planning on painting with your watercolours? That's what I am planning on buying myself for Christmas this year.

Imaybeacat · 01/11/2021 20:59

Honestly, anything. I’m hoping to set up a business, making cards for different occasions sounds nice Smile But you can’t beat flowers, eh?

lnsufficientFuns · 01/11/2021 21:01

I replaced a kitchen floor tile and it looks amazing.

I’m really pleased with myself 🙌

After a v crappy few weeks, DD having Covid, a resurgence of anxiety/sleep issues... I had a decent night sleep last night. DD went back to school today, really happy. I was able to restart my usual work routine which made me feel so much better. The grey cloud in my head has lifted.

LtGreggs · 01/11/2021 21:04

I passed an acer tree (japanese maple) on my walk to work and it was breathtakingly beautiful in its wet autumn colours. Just in a suburban front garden.

overthethamesfromyou · 01/11/2021 21:05

My dd found my glasses 😀

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 01/11/2021 21:06

My new jumper feels soft and gorgeous

vampirethriller · 01/11/2021 21:07

My daughter told me I'm the best mummy in all the wide world!

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 01/11/2021 21:09

I picked up my new uniform for my new job that I start next week.
I can't wait to start as I've been bullied out of my old job because I'm female and over 40

Racingadmin · 01/11/2021 21:09

I finished off the Xmas present shopping for all eight of my nieces and nephews .

Now I can concentrate on dc, Dh and my mum for the next two paydays

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 01/11/2021 21:16

OP, your post makes it sound like your watercolours bumped into their niece, which has put an image into my head to make me smile!

My thing is that I was at work on an INSET day today (in itself a beautiful way to settle into a new half term, minus kids short of sleep due to clocks change and full of Halloween sugar!) and was sorting out the phonics books. I went hunting round the school for six boxes which were missing from the unit where the books are stored and found five of them!

Freebird61 · 01/11/2021 22:39

My Ds who is working abroad phoned me this morning to say he is flying home tonight for 5 nights, we weren’t expecting to see him until after New year.
BT have finally sorted my mums land line and internet after a few failed attempts.
The electrician has come and fitted my kitchen light, have been waiting 6 weeks.

mrselizabethdarcy · 01/11/2021 22:43

This is such a lovely thread! My Dd (stroppy 14 year old) came and snuggled up on the sofa with me tonight. She doesn't usually come out of her room unless it's for food. We talked and watched crap on the TV and it was great.

Strokethefurrywall · 01/11/2021 22:44

My kids have Covid, and despite my 7 year old coughing in my face when I did his LFT on Saturday, I seem to have dodged it.

Go vaccines!!!

CruellaDeVilla · 01/11/2021 22:45

I received a beautiful watercolour painting as a present from a friend

secretbookcase · 01/11/2021 22:47

I booked a week's training that I am really looking forward to today.

And the new light fitting for DS's room arrived and is even nicer and better quality than I thought it would be.

Thanks for suggesting this thread. I didn't have a great day at all but this thread has reminded me of small good things.

secretbookcase · 01/11/2021 22:48

And I heard a flock of starlings chattering. They were hidden in a hedge but really noisy. It was quite magical. As if the hedge was singing.

Msfoxy17 · 01/11/2021 22:50

I took my 4 year old DD to a wonderful adventure playground where she made friends with another little girl and they built a beautiful little sandcastle complete with moat (made of stones as no water). The sun was shining and it was such a happy moment.. I then I took a long route home to enjoy the autumnal colours while she had a little sleep. Just a perfect , tranquil afternoon, I felt very lucky.

Needhelp101 · 01/11/2021 22:50

I've only been in my new job a few weeks but am really enjoying working with a lovely team who are so helpful and friendly.

I was late booking my choice of the Christmas party datesand most of the rest of the team had already booked one of the two dates - when I tried to book the same, was told it was full to capacity 😔

Half an hour later, everyone had rebooked the alternative date so that we could all go together. Not just for me, obviously, but boy, that cheered me up!

Needhelp101 · 01/11/2021 22:52

And also I have Little House in the Big Woods to read as part of my 'run up to Christmas reading' 💕

FrancescaContini · 01/11/2021 22:52

I made an apple and blackberry crumble and devoured most of it.

LoveFall · 01/11/2021 23:04

I painted some cute wood slice Christmas ornaments. A hedgehog, a flamingo, a penguin, and a polar bear.
