I started quite a sad thread a few days ago and i’d like to lighten the mood Smile
I’ll start. My new watercolour paints came and bumped into niece while out, she gave me some of her sour toffees bless her GrinSmile
Then went home and had a bath but not before I made a tomato soup, ready for tomorrow.
SmileFlowers Hope you’re all doing dandy.

I came home after a long and rubbish day at work and my puppy nearly turned herself inside out wagging her tail when she greeted me as well as bringing me a sock. I love how pleased she is to see me, it always makes me laugh and lifts my spirits.

I met and cuddled a dear friend's brand new granddaughter today

My three young cats all fell asleep on my lap and DH offered to go to the shop for me so I didn’t disturb them.
They were very cute all curled up together.

I saw a stunning raincloud formation and then rainbow whilst out driving with DH.

Checked my work emails on my day off (am part time) and so far nothing of any concern for when I'm back in the office.

Managed to successfully order something I'd had my eye on for a while.

At the age of 29 and being a Mum of three under 4yrs, I've finally found a best friend in the last few months. Today she popped in to see me after doing the school run with her son and mine and after her shopping. I opened the door to a beautiful bunch of flowers and some chocolate. The reason she gave "because you're so lovely to my boy (her son) and you treat him like your own". I've never had anyone do something like that before and it honestly made my day.

The Melbourne spring behaved itself for once: three days in a row of sunny days for the holiday weekend. 😎

I'd love to see a photo of this. Sounds adorable. My old boy fills my lap. Couldn't squeeze a kitten on with him. He's not fat just built like a farmhand.

Our new mattress was finally delivered today. DD1 is home on her reading week and she helped me get it upstairs and in to our bed. We then entertained ourselves by practicing roly-polys across it, and were helpless with laughing.

Cannot wait to go to bed tonight, it will be like sleeping on a cloud.

couchparsnip · 02/11/2021 19:43

@secretbookcase wanted to see a pic of the cats.

Not on my lap but still cute

We're in a part of the world with really strict lockdown. We usually do something for Halloween but we're not allowed to do anything, see anyone, or go anywhere this year so I cobbled together a 'Halloween party' at home. It was just some supermarket sweeties in cups for a game, a couple of 'spooky snacks', the Monster Mash playlist on Spotify and a few rounds of 'spooky charades'.

When I was tucking her in to bed, 9yo DD told me it was "the BEST Halloween she's ever had!!!"

My DS 3.5 has speech delay. He got so excited talking earlier about ambulances he looked like he’d burst in his hurry to tell me all about them. I didn’t necessarily understand every word (he chucked in a few new words, I need to learn his lingo) but he was so animated, it was beautiful.

My DD 3.5 took herself off upstairs to read her book today. Went up to check on her and she was so adorable lying down looking at the pictures, and told me she’s ok she’s just chilling.

I’m finding myself at peace because today has been a good day, and we are all for now happy(ish) and healthy for the most part. I know bad times are on the horizon for us, but today has been a good one, and hopefully there’ll be plenty more to come. I am safe, I am loved, I am lucky.

One of my class (severe non verbal autism, doubly incontinent) did a wee on the toilet today!! So proud of him Smile

My uncle phoned me. Means a lot to me, we have never met, I didn't know my paternal side of the family. My mother had told me he was dead. I found him, and we are slowly getting acquainted.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 03/11/2021 02:07

DH doesn't have cancer. Could have hugged the doc. The day was wet and miserable, but I didn't notice.

I recently carved a pumpkin. Also I did a new exercise class yesterday and I loved it. Last week I discovered a new out of the way bookshop in Surrey for the first time ever and I will go back soon hopefully. I was able to start my Christmas shopping on Saturday and picked up some new decorations too.
