Neither, one of the band said ina rolling stone interview it was symbolic of Beverly Hills and all the excesses of America in those days, and how much the band drank and how they were living,

So it wasn’t about an actual building as such, it was written as the symbolism that they saw represented the dark excess of Beverly Hills.
