I'm clearly a bit bored...

Richard Burke is my perfect man and he and Monica made a much better couple than she and Chandler.

I really couldn't stand Susan. Or Emily.

Ross Geller is the funniest friend and mellowed a lot as he aged.

The Rachel and Joey hook up was totally wrong on all levels. She just wouldn't have gone there.

Kathy cheating on Chandler was pretty unbelievable (in real life both actors protested this, obviously to no avail).

Phoebe was a bit of a bitch who often threw her friends under the bus.

I preferred David the science guy to Mike, he was very funny.

It would have been nice for Joey to have a happier ending, a dream woman or part in a hit show.

Rachel's wardrobe is absolutely incredible.

Monica's Mum is really awful to her.

I hate to say it but Joey is a bit of a loser. Though he was the only one who never got drunk throughout the entire show.

Janice was actually really nice.

I'm sure I have more :-)

During her "fat" days Monica was easily a size 18, So definitely overweight, BUT while I don't like body shaming of any sort, it did kind of explain why such a gorgeous woman (Monica Geller,) had so many insecurities! And the whole thing also made way for some pretty hilarious episodes, such as the one where Chandler comes home with Ross to find Monica all trim and toned. On Rachel's advice, Monica then attempts to be "sexy" using what was at hand (the carrots and the knife! 🤣😂🤣) That scene cracks me up, and is definitely the funniest 'Monica' scene, slightly ahead of the 'Dudley Moore' haircut one, in the entire 10 year run!

Obviously though, the general message the episode sends is - "Monica was fat and therefore unattractive. Monica gets thin and is therefore gorgeous!" This is obviously a dreadful message to be sending out to young girls! And it's no wonder we girls who grew up in the 90s were sooo insecure about our own looks and bodies! Mind you, I think when you watch a show that is dated, you really have to accept that there will be so many things that are non PC and that wouldn't be accepted by today's standards.

I still love everything about F.R.I.E.N.D.S, so I guess I forgive it its flaws in a way I would never do with a newer show!
