@HelenaJustina
I already am - luckily when all this started I created 4 separate spaces for all four of us - to sleep, work and isolate in.
I told work and the dentist - apart from that no one external came near me. I get my food deliverd to the door and have my own bathroom. The one that has just been repaired.
But I wonder - am I now sick as in off work or do I WFH?

sproutsandparsnips · 19/11/2021 21:58

So sorry about your news Silkies - sending prayers, positive thoughts and Thanks
Work have delayed my start date for my new job, because they can't fill my current one......

DoctorTwo · 19/11/2021 22:52

Hey Silkies, there are loads of us here on your side all rooting for you. Here's hoping it hasn't spread and is curable, your children, cat and wabbit need you. As do we, how else are we to kept up to date with the whims of a middle aged gorgeous high maintenance cat?

Hard lines about the positive test Prok, hope the lurgy is minor for you, it's lucky you have what seems to be a self-contained living space within your flat.

Get well soon both of you.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/11/2021 22:59

Thank you Doctor
I am slightly miffed (I think that is the word), as the locked sweet cupboard is directly next to me and freshly stocked and DH has the keys. All my pleading falls on deaf ears.

Silkieschickens · 19/11/2021 23:49

Thanks all. Hope its just stage 3, that is bad enough. Tired now, at least its the weekend. I have a long medical letter now, full of findings, seems to be 7cms of lumps now. I think I will just hide under my fleece duvet and refuse to come out, its nice under here. Grin

HildaTablet · 20/11/2021 00:22

Sending you every good wish, Silkie, what a day you must have had. Do try and spend as much time under that fleece blanket this weekend as you can, you need to rest and regroup Flowers

mathanxiety · 20/11/2021 07:12

Sending love, Silkies. Hoping for good news still.

IWanderedLonely · 20/11/2021 08:20

Silkie Flowers.
I am sitting on bed with a cup of tea, trying to ignore the little voice that's telling me to get up and go for a run.

Champagneforeveryone · 20/11/2021 15:03

I finished my night shifts and went to bed when I got in, ostensibly for "a couple of hours" - I just woke up though I do feel much better for it! Shock

I have ordered a hand foraged wreath for my front door. That is the extent of my Christmas preparations so far Grin

Silkieschickens · 20/11/2021 16:20

Thanks all. DD went out for the day with friends.

MissConductUS · 20/11/2021 17:19

Apologies for my late arrival today. I came down with a rather severe case of what is likely norovirus last night and only got about two hours of sleep. DS is on his way down from Boston. I'm in bed. DH is shopping, cleaning and doing laundry.

Oh @Silkieschickens, I’m so sorry that it the news isn’t more positive. Fingers crossed that it is the least worst of the outcomes and that they are able to sort out and implement a treatment plan very quickly.

Nydj · 20/11/2021 17:43

Oh miss that sounds horrible, I hope you are feeling much better now and will be able to make the most of your time with your DS when he arrives.

I have given DH the go ahead to turn off the garden tap as he was getting very twitchy with next weeks weather forecast of frost at nighttime.

Champagneforeveryone · 20/11/2021 19:19

Oh no miss, hope you are feeling better soon Flowers

DS had his first very bad stomach bug a few months ago. Even now he refers to it as "that time my arse nearly fell off" Grin

I have just ordered £30 of spares for the bastard G-Tech hoover. I am by turns feeling very grown up, and then incensed that I have just shelled out £30 on a hoover.

Silkieschickens · 20/11/2021 19:20

Hope that doesn't last too long MissC and you feel better soon and can enjoy your DS home.

Thanks Nydj They had a treatment plan but now are redoing it when I said I wasn't sure how first part could work and then they looked again and realised it couldn't as they had missed a second lump. But will be sorted in next couple of weeks and it just means they need more surgery than they originally planned but better they realised now than mid surgery.

DH is getting a Chinese.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2021 20:09

Silkie Good that you felt safe enough with the team to be able to voice your opinion!

They offered me 'minimally invasive' - and I told them no way. I opted for a double mastectomy to be on the safer side - now I look eternally pregnant. Grin

DD's and DH's tests came out negative (the reintroduced official free tests - the ones you do not do yourself and can't cheat on). Luckily DS lives in permanent self- isolation, there are 2 'Klausuren' left to write.

IWanderedLonely · 20/11/2021 21:22

I've had a crap day. Had a complete meltdown - tears, snot , red nose etc after my usual Saturday morning trip to DM's. Embarrassingly this happened in the middle of town. My mental health is teetering and I feel utterly trapped with the situation

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2021 21:54

@IWanderedLonely - Sorry to hear this, I do not know your situation, but be kind to yourself for now. And I hope you find a solution.

Silkieschickens · 20/11/2021 22:18

I am checking everything now medical as staff are doing everything at speed of light in NHS, the doctors there are very knowledgeable but mistakes happen when you are under massive time pressure. The surgeon was trying to persuade me to have minimal surgery so I could "keep my looks" and he seemed shocked when I said I just want to be alive for my kids and don't care about my looks as I am late 40s and will lose them anyway. Admittedly having one breast removed is a bit of a lop sided and not very attractive look but right now looks are not my priority.

Sorry to hear you are depressed IWandered I can recommend fleece duvets to hide under. And music. Hope you can get some support.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2021 22:24

Silkie I wear 'artificials' to better fill my clothes, but only when I am out an about.

I have done masses of Duolingo today stuck in my room. Duo is a very happy owl.

Silkieschickens · 20/11/2021 22:26

My duo is really hacked off with me as I have not felt in the mood to do it though may do some tomorrow, think lots you compete against are bots and they do Mon to Friday. So you have to do less to get through by doing minimal Mon to Fri then more at weekends.

Grin Just got a Duolingo message, you are in danger of losing your 52 day streak and scary owl.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 20/11/2021 22:44

Silkie Make owl happy - it is good for you.

I always try to find out if the others are likely to be in my time zone or not and if they learn different languages to me. Grin

Silkieschickens · 20/11/2021 22:51

Owl is now happy but I am now worried as I pushed Rabbito into the demotion zone and I do not want to harm any rabbits.

MissConductUS · 20/11/2021 22:58

That's a very sensible attitude about the surgery, Silkie.

DS arrived home a few hours ago. He and DH made macaroni and cheese to go with burgers. I have a headache and still feel queasy but will try to eat something.
