Strange/funny Dreams

FreshFancyFrogglette · 30/10/2021 22:36

Perhaps ones that you wouldn't share in Real Life.

The highlight of mine last night, a friend that I haven't seen in a while getting kicked out of a party for sticking 2 umbrellas up his bum. The quote from my best friend "I'm glad that he's been kicked out, so that he can get the help he needs" Confused

Wonder what that's all about?! Anyone else, strange, inexplicable dreams?

Oh my god that's hilarious.

I regularly have dreams where I need the loo and every cubicle is filthy or there's no loo in it, or it's a shower cubicle.

I also have a recurring one where my car's been stolen.

Oh and one where I'm packing a suitcase, or a room up and I cannot find anything or fit anything in.

It's bloody stressful 🤣

ghostmouse · 30/10/2021 22:47

Recurring dream I have, I’ve parked my car somewhere in a huge car park and I can’t find it. I don’t recognise the car park or the area when I go back from where I’ve been.

I also dream about toilets with half doors or most oddly I have no clothes on.. either on my bottom half or top and I find myself in the supermarket or at work and the shame and embarrassment. But no one seems to notice Confused

Same.

Duckypoohs · 30/10/2021 22:56

I had a very stressful dream at the beginning of the pandemic where for some reason I still lived with my ex and he kept inviting more and more people round and the house ended up packed.

A lot of my dreams either feature water, school or a house I have lived in for ages then surprisingly find another room or wing Hmm

Duckypoohs · 30/10/2021 22:58

I must be odd because I don't ever recall having a flying dream, or a trying to find a loo dream, which seem to be very common. I very briefly flew, but it was a lucid dream and I was trying to, woke up pretty soon sadge.

HailAdrian · 30/10/2021 22:59

I had a dream that I killed two people. That was weird, I have no homicidal thoughts generally.

bestcattoyintheworld · 30/10/2021 23:00

I had a weird one about a week ago. I was sitting on a sofa and a patch of the fabric was missing. Out of the resulting hole was an eye staring up at me. There was someone inside the sofa and I ended up hitting the eye a la whack a mole.

A man then came and told me that the sofa person was a criminal and being inside the sofa was his punishment.

InTheKitchenAtParties · 30/10/2021 23:04

@HailAdrian

Same.

And me, always a creepy public toilet.
shinynewapple21 · 30/10/2021 23:06

I am very reassured about my trying to find a toilet dreams now! Didn't realise they were so common .

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 30/10/2021 23:07

When I was pregnant I used to have dreams about swimming in sewers... Confused

thesunwillout · 31/10/2021 00:05

I'd read a while back about the loo one being common, but good to see it here.

Yes my car being stolen is also an ending to the where have I parked my car.

I too never recognise where I've parked it, or even remember if I actually took it with me.

OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 31/10/2021 00:10

Last night I dreamt that I was on Hunted, the Channel 4 programme where you have to evade capture.

But instead of evading MI5, I was on the run from frickin Imhotep, the baddie from The Mummy Confused

OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 31/10/2021 00:13

I had a dream that I killed two people. That was weird, I have no homicidal thoughts generally.

Murdering people and going on the run is my recurring dream.

Talk about stressful.

CescaCesca · 31/10/2021 00:23

Recently I dreamt that I was in my bathroom pottering around and I sensed someone behind me, when i turned around the person jumped away frightened and hid in the bath. When I looked closer at this person I realised it was a woman and then I realised it was actually myself and I started freaking out and screaming to my partner saying "Can you see that lady, shes me shes me!!" but he couldnt see her at all and was so confused. The version of me hiding in the bath was really scared but also really vacant - no voice and really emotionless.

It really freaked me out to be looking at myself as another person if that makes sense, especially because this version of me seemed so empty!! I woke up in a right tizz!

EmergencyHydrangea · 31/10/2021 00:27

I dreamt that I was fighting dinasours with Jimmy Perez ( I mean really? He'd be crap, he's nowhere near as buff as Nick Cutter)

Athenajm80 · 31/10/2021 00:29

I have dreams about buying another house which is massive but derelict and then I want to live in that one but I know I should stay in my current house as it's more finished. It's always the same house, although it looks different in each dream if that makes any sense?

I also have ones where I'm driving but don't know how to brake or turn left or some other important but if driving knowledge. I just wing it but know that sooner or later I will crash or get arrested.

I love my dreams generally, they're always really random and I remember most of what happens. It's like going to the cinema or reading a really good book each time I sleep 😁

FreshFancyFrogglette · 31/10/2021 00:37

Oh these are strange. Toilet seems to be a reoccurring theme, I guess it's something to do with needing the toilet in the night, or just being aware of your bladder.
I've also had dreams about killing people, or stealing things, what sticks out from them is the feeling of regret. The sheer panic of not being able to undo an action, of it being "too late".
Dd has had the classic dream of teeth falling out, which is meant to be something to do with finances.

The ones about the man in the sofa, and seeing yourself in the bath, those sound terrifying!!!

My worst dreams are one's where people I'm close to look like how they look in real life, but they don't act like it, and I can't get through to them, or reason with them.

My best ever dream was being friends with Leo Di Caprio. I was at my hobby and he was coming to visit our facility and I remember telling myself I must not make too much of an effort otherwise he will think I'm just one of those girl trying to impress him 🤣 We had numerous lovely days out, shopping, going to the hairdresser and safe to say I was friend zoned thanks to my "not too much effort approach"!

I also had a dream about living next door to Gerard Butler who always complained about the slow elevator in the building and ended up climbing out of his window regularly in protest.

I also had a dream about being out partying with Boris Johnson 🍷🤣😩

My two recurrent dreams are about having to drive a car somewhere as there's an emergency. I don't have a licence nor can I drive (both in RL and in my dream) and I panic as I'm trying to find out how to to it. Generally accelerating too fast, not being able to take a turn and crashing. Fun!

Also that I'm back at school, sitting an exam and realising I had not prepared for it. Sheer panic!

LOVE a good dreams discussion :)

ALargeGlassofMalbecPlease · 31/10/2021 00:53

Ohhh @Athenajm80 the car one is similar to mine!!

@FreshFancyFrogglette that bathroom one is awful and do is not being able to get through to people you know. It's the feeling isn't it, that stays with you for a while afterwards IYSWIM.

There's one that will always stay with me. My brother was drowning and my dad wouldn't let me jump in to save him. I'll never forget that feeling, it took me ages to get over it and eventually told my Dad how upset I was with him about it in RL - which is totally silly and unreasonable. My poor DF!

CarrieMoonbeams · 31/10/2021 01:44

I very rarely remember my dreams but I have 2 recurring ones that crop up every so often.

One is where I'm driving, but on grass, like on a playing field. I'm trying to drive up this fairly steep grassy slope, but the ground is really wet and the tyres can't grip. I'm sliding backwards - sometimes it's towards a pond, sometimes towards a cliff edge - and it won't stop slipping. I'm stamping on the brakes and pulling on the handbrake but keep sliding. I usually wake up in a real panic at that point.

The other one isn't scary like that, but there's a lot going on. I'm always in a massive house (not always the same one), it's like a squat as there are loads of unconnected people milling around, doors are hanging off, the internal walls are in a bad state, and I'm clambering over bits of plasterboard etc, looking for someone. I feel annoyed at the fact that the house is being ruined, and that I can't find who I'm looking for, so I go outside. I get my bearings, and see that I'm somewhere familiar to me - different place each time, but down the road from a previous workplace or in an area I used to live, for example.

Something of you have really frightening dreams Sad

APJ1 · 31/10/2021 02:21

I regularly have dreams where I need the loo and every cubicle is filthy or there's no loo in it, or it's a shower cubicle.

I do too. Empty cubicles or only sinks everywhere!

LoveFall · 31/10/2021 02:35

I have two main ones.

I have parked my car somewhere and can't find it. I walk for hours and never find it.

I have gone back to my old work and am expected to be a leader but I can't find my way around the building and everything is different, with horrible working conditions and productivity demands. I can't figure out the elevators which miss certain floors,

LoveFall · 31/10/2021 02:42

There is one more that I am a bit reluctant to acknowledge as it involves my parents who both died of flu in the same week in January 2013. My Mom had dementia but still knew us.

I dream about a big house, which is theirs. It is very messy and dirty. There are many guests. My siblings are there but we are engaged in the dysfunctional parts of our relationships, like one being very neat, me being messy.

Mom and Dad have no money as I have taken it all (I was executor).

There are many variations but the general theme is trying to help them and failing. Hard but I guess understandable.

OldTinHat · 31/10/2021 04:10

@thesunwillout I have that dream regularly too! Needing a loo but they're dirty or busy or have no door. Trying to take a shower but it's in a busy place, no privacy, people can walk in, its dirty. Hate those dreams!

OldTinHat · 31/10/2021 04:15

I also dream about having to walk home but it's an impossible distance and I just walk and walk. 'Home' is always my parents' house.

I used to dream about murders and massacres but when I made the connection that I only had them when on my period, they stopped!

Oh and (sorry, bit boring now!) I always dreamt that I was male. For years and years from such a young age. Then I had DS1 and they stopped 😁
