Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm enjoying my usual cuppa in silence. I can hear the odd dog barking, and some sirens on the main road but that's it. Dd2 sounds like she's up. Dd1 will still be snoring.

Today's plan is to do a couple of loads of laundry, tidy the kitchen (just pots mostly) and carve pumpkins. Dd2 decided to paint hers this year so she'll probably add to that.

We'll roast their seeds, more than likely with cinnamon & sugar, and I'll think about baking/making something with the rest.

We'll make pizzas for tea (dough should probably be first on the list to do) & I'll have a glass or two of wine with tea. Might nip to the shop for fancy cake for afters.

Hopefully I'll get a little bit more of my current crochet project done later. I'm slowly working on a tiny Christmas village, using thread.

We are heading home from my parents - the kids and I back to South Wales. If the weather improves I may drive over the beacons instead of the usual way. Then put washing on, few bits of cleaning and decide what to have for tea.......

I’ve been shopping. Been up in the loft to get boxes and boxes of baby clothes down. Put 2 loads of washing on. Soon my 2 DD’s are coming round with my DGC and we are going to sort through baby clothes as 1 DD is pregnant again and wants to see what baby clothes she has. DH wants to know if other DD is going to take all the stuff she has in our loft. I think the answer to that will be no. 😂

Not a lot. DH and I were out last night until much later than I wanted, so a lazy day today - and it's raining.

Had a couple of drinks last night, just at home so having a slow start. Showered then came back to bed with coffee.

DCs have nabbed all the croissants but I'm saving myself for a carvery roast lunch. 😋 Before that I need to hoover and mop the floors. Gym this evening to work off the carvery!

Just got back from France so got loads of washing to get through, order food shop for next week, carve pumpkin with dd, practise her vampire face paint for tomorrow as I'm not good at that thing at all and want her to look half decent, eat, eat eat and drink wine and not leaving the house as saving energy for trick or treating tomorrow and Halloween party so really don't want to leave the house today.

Getting Halloween box out the loft and decorating the sitting room and kitchen. Having dinner with DS and his GF and watching a horror film this evening.

Chores were done yesterday and it’s pouring with rain here so will spend some time on my games console and make some phone calls. Will try and go for a walk if the rain gets lighter.

Still in bed. Waiting for coffee and toast from DH. Bliss.

Contemplating hitting the shops for a bit of early Christmas shopping. Currently sat watching TV with a coffee.

My 18 month old is going in for grommets in his ear fitted. I know it’s a minor surgery but I’m feeling very nervous. His is totally my PFB baby

I've done a little tidying up upstairs and now we're sat with toast blankets and coffee I don't feel up to much more had my flu jab yesterday and feeling a bit fluey (Psychological mindfuck!)

Going to have my Covid booster at lunchtime. Other than that, not a lot.

I'll try to get on with my new book if DH and DD will let me and then it will be fish and chips for dinner tonight.

Just back from taking DS swimming, he's on his second breakfast

I'm post-op so no running today. It's raining and not much fun outside. So instead..

• gossiping on the phone

• persuading DS to finish his homework
• making a lemon drizzle cake
• watching the last episode of the Long Call
• the ironing

DH has taken DS to football class and I'm renewing our car insurance - all glamour! Then I'll do a bit of laundry and housework until they get back, and we're taking DS to a Halloween party this afternoon. Not sure what's for dinner yet - we normally get our Tesco order on a Saturday, but could only get a Sunday slot this week, so think it might be some kind of freezer surprise...

Aw your day sounds lovely OP, and others too, sorry for the nervous grommets mum though, hope he is out quickly! OP tell me about the roasted seeds, do you dry them or anything first?

I am feeling a bit hungover even though I don’t drink, after being in a loud shouty pub for first time in years last night and going to bed at 1. Just had a fried egg sandwich and drinking a coffee with MN while I think of doing an online shop.

@Heruka we followed this "how to..." last year so will probably do that again. They surprised us actually, they were really nice & we'd never done it before.

Enjoying my last lie in before DS comes home tomorrow from his dad's. Bye bye half term it's been a blast......

Mr multivac and the boys are at football training; I'm in bed just about to drink my 2nd cup of tea of the morning, while our new Greek rescue dog wanders back and forth and tries to work out why I'm not doing what I do every weekday morning, which is get up and go for a run before work… Later on MrM and I will go to the football and this evening one teen has a party and the other is working. We've invited our friends over to eat Chinese food – there will be booze. Oh, and at some point I need to vacuum.

I'm just back from getting pumpkins to carve tomorrow with the kids.
Today they're going on a hike with scouts later so me and a friend are going out for afternoon tea. Another friend is picking the kids up later for me and then coming here with her son for a brew. Dh is at work till 10pm. I might try and get some prep done for work on Monday as I've been off for half term but if not that will be a job for tomorrow. Nice round off weekend to the holidays.

We are up and ready for a farm visit today (making the most of mid term)
Might do a grocery shop on the way home.

Thanks for the thread OP. I have tickets for Wales v NZ today at Cardiff! Just having a lovely lazy morning at the hotel, we’ve got lunch booked in a bit in the Bay then out into town to soak up the atmosphere before heading in to the stadium (we’re going to lose, but hey, it’ll still be a good day).

I woke up about an hour ago but managed to have an extra snooze.

I’ve just made coffee which we’re having in bed. We’ve got our thick winter duvet on now which is so lovely and cosy.

DH is watching YouTube, learning all about how to do various building & maintenance jobs in the house - he’s great, he loves to have something to do in his spare time so he’s always keen to focus on the next task that needs tackling in our very old house. And he finishes every job too! 🥰

Later we will watch some vlogs from channels that we enjoy watching, we always watch a few videos together at the weekend. We watch a channel about luxury travel and hotels, one of ferry/train journeys in Japan, one of a couple who live in Alaska, and I love a couple from back home (Scandinavia) and one from Paris.

After that we will get up and DH will start whatever job he’s decided to do in the house. I’ll finish wrapping up a parcel full of presents and treats I’m sending to my daughter for her birthday. I’ll work on some cross stitch for a Christmas card.

I’ll probably do a bit of tidying and organising in our big room upstairs - I’m slowly going through and clearing out things we no longer need. Then I’ll list a few items on eBay. Whilst doing that I’ll get distracted and end up finding lots more lovely things on eBay that I ‘must have’.

At some point in the day I’ll phone my daughter for a chat.

It’s a horrible day today, manky and wet, so we’ll likely just stay home and relax/get things done.

DS, DH and I are off to see family and friends this weekend. It's DS's first Halloween 🎃 I love this time of year, I always dress up, carve pumpkins and make pumpkin pie 🥧

So much cleaning and tidying and washing. I've increased my work hours and I'm sinking a bit! I'm just thinking about sitting down later in a clean house with a glass of wine and catching up on Autumnwatch. Some of you have a lovely day planned and I'm quite envious!

Staying with friends at the coast, bit of toast now, then a walk and a lovely lunch!
