I'm enjoying my usual cuppa in silence. I can hear the odd dog barking, and some sirens on the main road but that's it. Dd2 sounds like she's up. Dd1 will still be snoring.

Today's plan is to do a couple of loads of laundry, tidy the kitchen (just pots mostly) and carve pumpkins. Dd2 decided to paint hers this year so she'll probably add to that.

We'll roast their seeds, more than likely with cinnamon & sugar, and I'll think about baking/making something with the rest.

We'll make pizzas for tea (dough should probably be first on the list to do) & I'll have a glass or two of wine with tea. Might nip to the shop for fancy cake for afters.

Hopefully I'll get a little bit more of my current crochet project done later. I'm slowly working on a tiny Christmas village, using thread.

What about all of you? 🎃

Love these threads, thanks @lucysmam Grin

We are off to a wedding today for one of DH's former work colleagues. Will shortly be putting DS2 in the bath, DS1 is still asleep so I'll leave him for the time being. I'm on driving duty today so that DH can have a drink (he doesn't drink very often).

Just having a cup of tea before I get going, as it will be a busy couple of hours getting everyone ready before we have to leave.

Tomorrow we will be carving pumpkins and decorating the house ready for trick or treaters.

Currently sitting in very damp woods waiting for the first team of scouts to pitch up for a challenge - so good to be back to proper scouting events after the last 18 months!

peaceanddove · 30/10/2021 10:44

Just about to drink my 2nd coffee watching the heavy rain outside. Popping out for lunch with DH then picking up the keys and going to look at his new offices, very excited.

This afternoon will be spent reading, snoozing and jigsawing. Tonight I'm actually going to cook, from scratch - baked meatball lasagne with garlic bread.

We've been at DM's for the week, heading home after lunch. Only a 45min drive max but I still can't be arsed! I've packed most stuff but haven't put it in the car yet. We're just having a lazy morning, some lunch with screens, and then home to DH. Probably more screens when we get home tbh, I'm too tired from a busy week!

Both kids are snotty and coughing, we had to cancel plans yesterday and get them tested. Thankfully negative. DD is definitely going back to school as she's better today, and I'm just praying DS perks up before Monday so he can go to preschool. I need him to go to preschool!

We were meant to be going to a local farm today for a Halloween party but we're up late last night due to the prostitute next door having a very late caller and him knocking on our door at 3am asking dh to move his car as we were blocking him in. Just too wrecked to go anywhere now.

Camomila · 30/10/2021 10:50

We're on holiday in Italy atm.
This morning we took the DC to the playground and to visit all the relatives at the grave yard (Italy celebrates day of the dead) so it was full of people cleaning and decorating.
In a minute my uncle is coming round for lunch and this afternoon I might go mushroom spotting and chestnut picking in the woods with my dad.

Right now DH is watching the news, DS2 is having a nap and DS1 is sitting in the hotel lobby with my dad to watch youtube for a bit.

IpanemaPeaHen · 30/10/2021 10:59

Dropped my eldest at work while it was still dark (yawn). Came home for coffe and long soak in the bath while my other teens slept in!

Tidy up and hoover later followed by strictly Halloween and wine Halloween Smile

PurpleFadesToGreen · 30/10/2021 11:44

Got up early ( for a Saturday!) to pick up something I bought from fb...turns out its too small, so that was annoying.

Taking GC and DD for flu jabs and that's my day done.
Though I'll probably do some laundry and a quick tidy round.

We're going to need a LOT more information about your life!

Love these threads Smile

Poor DD has had Covid for the entirety of her half term break and is finally free today, so we’re going to go into town for hot chocolate and a wander around the shops, she needs a new coat. Home for Strictly!

embolass · 30/10/2021 12:06

Up really early, showered, 1st load washing done and hung up, dropped DS1 at work, quick visit to town, dog walked, coffee and bagel . Second washing load done now ironing. DH and 2DS out this afternoon so I’m off to DMs this afternoon then tonight it’s takeaway and wine time with Strictly and Shetland on I player

Been to bootcamp, made blueberry porridge and had a long lazy bath reading Christmas decor mags. Now in bathrobe trying to persuade myself to get dressed and go and do the food shop in a big out of town supermarket as local supermarket shelves were literally bare - zero fresh produce, zero baked goods and shop staff just rolling their eyes with despair.

SiulaGrande · 30/10/2021 12:23

Up early to Tesco for Halloween party food. DD baked gingerbread in Halloween shapes. She and DH gone to collect a friend so they can decorate the house.

Rummaged through the Halloween box, never remember from one year to the next what's in there. Made a game plan - mummy wrapping, apple bobbing, wink murder.

Just now I'm having a break in the middle of making feely boxes- cauliflower steaming for brains. Will get changed into charity shop dress just before people arrive.

Party will be small but chaotic. One family stays for after-party. It's our 10th such party, can't believe the years have flown.

princessspotify · 30/10/2021 12:41

Had a slow morning. Done the washing and school uniform ironing ready for next week. Ds1 getting ready for tennis and going to a Halloween party later. Ds 2 watching captain America for the umpteenth time. DH has just got home from work, waiting for bil who is a plumber to come over and install our new dishwasher.
I'll be doing a food shop later then it will be chicken curry for tea and strictly.

TrueRefuge · 30/10/2021 12:56

I love these threads, they're so heartwarming!
I was up early and went to the gym, just had a sausage sandwich and tea for lunch, and now going to relax in a hot bath. Going out to a family dinner tonight at the hosts' house which is always fabulous, so will spend the afternoon doing make up, deciding what to wear, and maybe read on the sofa with some tea and chocolate before we head out. Feels like a great Saturday!

TheBlackHeart · 30/10/2021 13:00

Slow start here as we had family round last night.

Going to jump in the shower in a minute, then head to our local city with DH to do some shopping for upcoming family birthdays. Then stop in the pub for a drink, before coming home to carve our pumpkins, have a takeaway, and watch a film.

Echobelly · 30/10/2021 13:05

Had a big day out with son yesterday, so taking it easy today.

Did some admin I do for the choir I'm in, son and DH are going to carve pumpkins later, so I'll be making the innards into pumpkin pudding (it's a dead easy recipe, basically boil and mash pumpkin, mix with with flour, sugar and eggs and pour in a ring mould).

Then a friend is trying out an idea of her about spooking online storytelling, so DH and I will be tuning into that with some booze - if there's time and opportunity I may offer to read the 'scary' story oldest wrote aged 5, which I found again recently and is hilarious. Grin

Goneback2school · 30/10/2021 13:15

Had a lovely lazy morning, stayed in bed while dh ran to the shops to get some shopping. Between us we have sorted out laundry and vacuumed. I have to finish up the kitchen and pack away the clothes. Dh has just left to watch Dune for the second time. I have prised the kids off their screens and we will hopefully see my sister and her kids in a bit.

thebear1 · 30/10/2021 13:45

Continuing to self isolate with the ds2. Day 7 so very bored now and done pretty much most things in the house that can be done.

BillinaTheChickenQueen · 30/10/2021 13:51

We’ve had a busy half term so we are doing sweet fuck all for the rest of the day.
DP is out with friends. One of the dts had a football match this morning.
We’ve just got back and had bacon sarnies on a cheesey bloomer.
We are watching impractical jokers and eating ginger bread flapjacks.
I’ve got to submit a couple of application forms for jobs in a bit, but I’ve only got to do a quick spag check.
We are just going to watch tv all day. Might nip to the shop for a pumpkin or 2 and that’s it.
Domino’s for dinner later.

Weedsorwishes · 30/10/2021 14:44

Lovely day so far here was torrential rain this morning we have been to a local garden centre which has a lovely little soft play so the children burnt off some steam in there and DH and I enjoyed a coffee together. We stayed for lunch too. Weather has brightened up now so an afternoon in the garden planting some bulbs I bought this morning. Chinese takeaway for end of half term treat tea tonight
