Can’t sleep because

There’s a mouse hiding in the corner of my bedroom and it won’t leave. It’s so pathetic, I know. It’s tiny and harmless but I’m panicked about it coming into the bed when I’m asleep. Please knock some sense in to me and/or reassure me! I promise I’m generally a sensible person Confused

Definitely nothing pathetic about being scared of a mouse! You're actually pretty brave to be able to be in the same room as him/her (lol).

I've read some really sad things and just feeling really upset and sad tonight... The mind is a funny place Smile

Thank you for the support, I feel a bit less silly now! Sorry to hear how what you’re going through; sadness at night always feels so much bigger. Hopefully you can get some sleep and know that things will look a bit better in the morning

My Dad is very ill, I attended a horrific funeral yesterday for a child, I have another one next Wednesday and on Monday, I have to sack someone. I wonder why my brain won't switch off... Sad

@Stargazing919 - on a much lighter note, check out the "Litter Tray" and the black cats thread. I think my little cat would love to come and catch your mouse!!! Grin

@Stargazing919 Thank you. Sadness really does feel way more bigger at nighttime. I wish we had an on/off button to sometimes just help us restart ourselves. Hope the mouse finds its way out your home soon!

@Unreasonabubble I'm really sorry to hear about what's life thrown at you and can't even imagine how difficult the last few days must've been all the while knowing you've got more of them lined up. Sometimes life is just so difficult and unfair. Sending lots of good luck your way.

If it helps mice love chocolate so you can catch it/lure it with some. (I have a pet mouse)

I can't sleep because I'm stuck in hospital with covid positive DS1. He had an asthma attack brought on by the covid, and 111 sent an ambulance and we got brought up to hospital to make sure there's nothing wrong with his heart as his chest still hurts. (He has underlying heart problems)
So we've had an ECG and were just waiting for a doctor to say he's fine to go home.

Awake as new puppy thinks its playtime and is howling. And I'm wondering what the hell we have done. In the long term it will be good for our family and already has done wonders for autistic DS but in the short term I'm so worried how I'm going to cope as life is not easy already and now we have a puppy in the mix. It has been meticulously and long planned but I'm hoping I dont go under in the puppy stage. If it were just me I'd have an older dog every time but everything had to be very specific for DS.

Awake as my 4 kiddies have coughs. The youngest 11 months old, is trying to sleep but keeps waking up coughing and then crying as a result 😫
All booked for tests in the morning

I’m awake because I’m in hospital after two TIAs and it’s hotter than the gates of hell in here. I also tested covid positive so am feeling like poo from that - on the plus side I get a nice private room with my own loo.

Am seeing the neurologist in the morning so am hoping to be able to go home soon and curl up with a lemsip in my own bed.

Sorry to hear of all these reasons for sleeplessness but especially @Unreasonabubble that's a lot of tragedy you're dealing with. Very very sorry.

My buyer of house sale pulled out at the eleventh hour today/yesterday & so we will most likely lose the house we've spent months & £££ buying. It's just me and my teen daughters with the constants of our house all boxed up & ready to complete.

I'm not sure I can face a new round of viewings or finding a new house but also researching selling off part of the garden as a building plot.

I'm awake because I've had a random achy stabbing pain coming and going on my left side to the side of my rib, fed up I had it a few weeks ago and saw doctor no explanation because it went away but tonight it's back and I can't sleep with it 😕

I'm awake cos I spent the entire working week achieving nothing. Had a freak out cos I can't do something and my boss is back Monday and it looks like I did nothing all week. Lots of self loathing going on. I hate working from home on my own without people. And its supposed to be lovely. And it's so hard to find work in your 50s.

I can’t sleep as I’m 37 weeks pregnant and my hips and pelvis are crippling me !! I swear this baby must weigh about 10lbs by now

I'm awake as I thought I had heartburn but have also just spent half an hr on the loo. Just taken immodium so giving that chance to work.
Just heard DS2 coughing which at the moment is a pre curser to him being sick. Not due to a tummy bug but because he's had so many colds since starting nursery in sept he's so full of gunk he keeps bringing it up at night. So far we are ok though.

It's not real been a half term for relaxing and I'm not ready to go back to work on Monday. I don't feel rested and so it's going to be another half term of trying to keep my head above water energy wise.

Borrow a neighbours cat tomorrow. We’ve lent our cats out for this purpose over the years , 😂
Make sure they give you a litter tray though, or buy a very cheap one.

Can’t sleep either, driving me mad 😡

My DS10 has just spectacularly thrown up from the top bunk giving the vomit a very large trajectory area. It's managed to obliterate not only his bed but his brothers below too, never mind everything else it's managed to hit. I wish he'd just have puked on his bed rather then leaning over the edge.

I've moved them to the sofa and will face the carnage in the morning so I'm already dreading that. It's one of those jobs where I'm looking at it thinking where the fuck do I start!

Now lying here wide awake after finally drifting off at 1am so it's likely 3 hours will be all the sleep I get tonight.
Thank god for the extra hour tomorrow.

Sorry to those struggling tonight 💐

@ruralbliss my house purchase is keeping me up too, luckily we have sold already but our vendors haven't given us all the info we need to exchange.
