@ItsNotNormalLove
There's absolutely no need for those posters coming back gloatingly saying "I told you so" in different words. Especially when someone said they'd had it confirmed by curry's that it was genuine. It must make you feel so very important to have been right. Well done 👏 👏
I couldn't agree more, it is really unpleasant to see a few posters almost seeming to delight in the fact that other posters have been let down by Currys.
It's made worse because a few hopeful purchasers clearly stated that they currently have no laptop so for them even a poor spec one would be real treat and others that were hoping to get a 'starter' laptop for their child in which case an alleged inability to play online games might not be a bad thing at all!
I feel really bad because it was me that originally asked about upgrading RAM/using an external hard drive etc to improve the machine and that was when the thread really turned nasty, posters were offering kind advice and getting shot down by other posters and it was really unpleasant and unnecessary.
FWIW the RAM could have been upgraded for £80 which would make it a not too bad laptop for £180.

Warranty
Our Limited Lifetime Warranty guarantees that if our Dell memory should ever fail, we will replace it.
Dell Memory means no worry of voiding your system’s hardware warranty.
So the folk that screamed that upgrading RAM would void the warranty would be better spending their time educating themselves rather than jumping on tech threads and scaremongering.
Those of you that know tech inside out - much respect - but most of us don't so a little kindness and help would be very much appreciated.
