DD has had a negative PCR test! So we are now a covid free household. To celebrate we've been baking.
Victoria sponge, banana bread and brownies!
It's been very messy but lots of giggles and laughter Smile

DD (7) and DS2 (6) are waiting impatiently for everything to finish baking and cooling so that they can go to town decorating them!

Lovely day here, it was raining this morning so we just pottered around the house. Made a delicious lunch of bubble and squeak with a runny egg on top mmmmm. Then it brightened up this afternoon so we went for a walk around a nature reserve, beautiful autumnal sunshine. Just about to have our treat half term Chinese takeaway!

Played taxi this morning taking DD to gymnastics and swimming, finished my book, had lunch, changed all the beds, dusted and hoovered the whole house, went for a walk with DC, baked some banana bread. Roast beef for dinner followed by sponge pudding and custard. Early night tonight for DC as school tomorrow (Scotland) then TV and wine for me and DH.

@Kayemm so sorry Thanks.

A windy but bright day here, I've been on several dog walks plus a visit to our local bookshop to recce before it's 20% event next Sunday (Christmas shopping).

DH & DS have had covid plus self isolation which finished on Thursday for DS & today for DH so we can finally spend time together & eat together etc. DH has been catching up on work, DS had a lie in then went to the gym this afternoon. I've been washing, tidying up, making slow cooked beef with Nigella's salt & vinegar potatoes. A week off work next week, love a Sunday evening without the Monday morning dread Smile. It's half term but apart from a day trip to London together on Wednesday DS aged 15 will mainly do his own thing, & I can continue the Christmas prep & catch up on life admin. Hope everyone has a relaxing evening...

DH and I dropped the kids at the GPs and took ourselves off to IKEA.

Didn't manage to get all the pieces I wanted but am nicely stocked up in meatballs and candles now.

DD1 has moved into her own room today (sharing with DD2), we've been busy since 8am switching furniture around and getting all her things in the right place. DS got a new bookcase and pictures for his walls so hung those up too.
I've cleaned and tidied the house ready for the week. DH took some stuff to the tip. DC's did some craft and watched Coco. Sausage and mash for their tea. DH and I are going to have chip shop tea shortly- DC have all requested to go to bed early to enjoy their new rooms Grin

DS1 out with friends watching the football DS2 not well, DH snoozing
Prep for week ahead done now for wine and strictly soon

troppibambini6 · 24/10/2021 18:18

A very chilled day today and I'm really looking forward to having the kids at home for the week and not having to rush out every morning.
I cleared out the loft so I can actually find stuff now.
Dd1 has just pottered, dd2 had a friend sleep over so has been with her and netball got cancelled which I was secretly quite relieved about.
Ds1 and ds2 went for a dog walk with dh.
We've all had a roast and chocolate cake with I cream.
We've had a very stressful few weeks and today has been exactly what we all needed.

Had a lazy morning, then both sons came round (both single) and we all (husband and I) went for a pub lunch - son no. 2 drove, so that was nice.
Later, did my Asda online shop, ordered a few things from Amazon, then painted my nails and toenails, did my roots, had a bath.

Relaxing with a glass of wine now.

Love these threads. DD is one and you can't imagine how uplifting it is to hear about a future time when we might get some time to ourselves on the weekend while she entertains herself! But right now it looks like...up at 4.45am Sad Survived til breakfast/naptime on many cups of tea and a fair bit of Cocomelon. Post-nap we went to a baby friend's first birthday in a playground - nice to see the other parents from antenatal group. Then to lunch at our favourite caff. DP and I both napped during the afternoon nap. Then playing/DD's tea (mostly ended up on the floor) and thank god we made it to bedtime. Just had a long, hot bath and we've got a Cook lasagna in the oven, gonna watch an episode of something and then turn in.
