What's the weirdest thing you've ever found in your food?

So last night I was eating pistachios without looking and there was a grub in one of them , so that happened
A few years ago I had to set fire to a nest of spiders I found on a banana

A large beetle type thing. I gave it to the council who sent it off to an entomologist for identification.

A dead cockroaches buried in the middle of a tray of chips (placed deliberately as a “prank”). I almost ate it as I was talking and wasn’t looking at every chip as I ate it.

Carrots on a pizza.

Found one of my cat's whiskers on my plate last night 🤦‍♀️

I was given a glass of red wine with a cockroach in it. They gave me the rest of the bottle for free as compensation

A fly underneath some whipped cream on apple pie in a London restaurant. The waiter looked and said "well it hasn't been cooked so it must have flown into it after it was served to you" and went to walk away again.

He seemed most surprised that I didn't fancy eating any of it after that!

Some blue twine in a pack of Mornflake tropical muesli. They gave me two free packets and a cook book.

My dm was served cod full of worms in a hospital dining room! Apparently it happens sometimes.

When me and DP prepare each other's lunches (rarely I must say) we write notes for each other.

One day he prepared my lunch in a bit of a hurry obviously put the wrong piece of paper in and I ended up finding in my lunchbox a shopping list which had cock and balls doodles all over it, and "I hate my fucking mother" scrawled in the top corner.

Thankfully no-one saw me pull that psychiatrists wet dream out of my tupper ware

Often found a snail in a bag on mint when I worked on a bar.

I once found a screw in my ice cream when I was about 13. Went back to the shop (was a soft ice cream in a code which was then dipped in some kind of sugary topping) to show the lady who served me and she dug it out with her fingers and handed it back to me. I just took it and walked away as was gobsmacked.

A fairly big chunk of wooden pallet in a box of aldi cereal.

I brought my friend home from school for her dinner and my mum sent me to quickly tidy my room while she made said dinner. I came back and lifted up my cold pizza to find that she'd put rubber maggots in slime under it 😁😁 She wasn't usually a jokester so it really made me and my friend laugh.

Big chunk of wire mesh from a frying basket embedded in the batter of my fish and chips. This was at a motorway services - luckily I realised as I started chewing - they replaced it straightaway and I didn't have time to make a formal complaint.

A large deep fried moth in some chips. It wasn't hidden among them, I've no idea how it wasn't noticed by the server or waiter.

A dead spider in a tin of peas. I phoned the helpline and managed to explain in between laughing. They sent a bag and envelope for me to return the tin and the spider. I received some vouchers too.

Ok, not my food but the cat’s food. About 30 years ago, I opened the tin to find an eyeball looking at me menacingly 👁 👁 I nearly pooped myself!!

A wriggling grub in my half eaten nectarine, luckily not a half eaten grub!

An oak leaf in a Tesco pre-prepared salad.

Found the plastic end from the dispenser in a big cup of coke once. Had already left the motorway services when I realised it wasn't just a big ice cube.

Oh god I eat these by the bag full and rarely pay attention to them! Will be from now on I think 😆
