So last night I was eating pistachios without looking and there was a grub in one of them , so that happened
A few years ago I had to set fire to a nest of spiders I found on a banana

My mum once found a piece of brillo pad embedded in a coffee and walnut cake. She took it back to the supermarket and they gave her a £5 voucher, which was a reasonable sum in the 1970's.

@Nilbog That’s an interesting point…up until now I’d assumed it was tuna or something but was it something more sinister?!!

fedup65356 · 19/10/2021 16:57

An eyelid in some cocktails sausages 🤢 put me right off meat and since then I've been vegetarian - about 11 years now.

QueefofSheena · 19/10/2021 16:59

Fag butt in a curry. I thought it was a cardamom pod and quickly discovered it wasn’t 🤢

VeronicaBeccabunga · 19/10/2021 17:01

A live grub wiggling about inside a Jacob's Club fruit biscuit.
They sent me a lovely big tin of assorted biscuits which was very welcome as I was an impoverished student at the time.

That makes sense if it was a fishy flavour cat food @BigYellowHat.

I was wondering if it was from a big animal like a cow or a horse and took up most of the tin.

I’m now giving myself good ideas for Halloween pranks 👁

This thread is WAY better than any of the dieting tip threads.

BigYellowHat · 19/10/2021 17:03

@Nilbog It was largish and perfectly formed. Just staring solemnly up at me 🤮

Hadalifeonce · 19/10/2021 17:03

A grilled spider!
I assume it had fallen/ landed on the food just before I put it under the grill.

Threewheeler1 · 19/10/2021 17:06

A pube on a pizza at a nice restaurant. On the very last slice, tucked under the cheese at the edge. Never been out for one since (pizza, not pube)

Halfwreckedbykids · 19/10/2021 17:13

A mouse's tail in a loaf of bread....
Can't believe it still blughhh

Hopeisallineed · 19/10/2021 17:16

My mum found a large piece of fur in a pasty once. They sent her a voucher in compensation but she declined to use it, having been put off for life! 😂

elephantoverthehill · 19/10/2021 17:20

A cigar wrapper in a Thai curry in a restaurant, they tried to tell me it was the packaging for the fish. I bought a butternut squash dish and managed to eat (I think) the back of someones earring. I had gold fillings for weeks.

LondonTTC · 19/10/2021 17:23

A really manky shoelace in a fresh bag of peas (still in pods).

EchoNan · 19/10/2021 17:45

Two contact lenses in a litre carton of Co-op milk.

Co -op insisted it was not possible. As there was a seal on the milk.

When I suggested that it could have been tampered with, they sent me a hamper, as a goodwill gesture, as I'd been a member for decades.

NorthernChinchilla · 19/10/2021 17:53

Part of a rubber glove in some Romaine lettuce.

Thanks Morrison's

SeraphinaDombegh · 19/10/2021 18:06

Oooh, ooh, I have a great one!

I was chopping veg for a meal and went to chop a red pepper. I cut one side off it and INSIDE the pepper was a LIVE MOTH. Live!!! It must have pupated on a pepper flower and become encased in the growing fruit. I was SO wigged out.

GannyFallopsplease · 19/10/2021 18:39

🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

fedup078 · 19/10/2021 18:50

I think I'm going to be extra suspicious of what I eat in future
I'm still very wary of bunches of bananas and what they might be hiding

Only a few months ago... a massive nut and bolt in a pack of fresh king prawns.
I nearly tipped it into a tomato sauce for pasta, it could have broken my tooth or I could've swallowed it.

So so disappointed with Morrisons. I was not after massive compensation or anything, I stressed I wanted a report as to how it happened and assurance it wouldn't happen again.
It took months and they more or less said it could not have happened. I was honestly appalled. I haven't complained about anything like this before ever and they may as well have called me a liar.
The prawns were £2.50. They gave me a total of £5.

Heartsandroses · 19/10/2021 19:10

Mould in a bottle pasta sauce
Asda refused to believe it was their fault and I must have tampered with it
I wouldn’t have bothered ringing them but I was a skint single mum who’d poured it over my mince before I saw it
I went hungry that night

Hboo31 · 19/10/2021 19:13

A notebook and pen inside a large packet of Aldi mushrooms

TroysMammy · 19/10/2021 19:18

The veg still in its plastic bag on my plate of Wetherspoons pie and mash.

shrugshrug · 19/10/2021 19:34

Bono as in U2 / Paul Hewson ??? [hmm][hmm]@MeAndDebbieMcGee

fedup078 · 20/10/2021 08:04

My mother once took a drink in the middle of the night and there was a giant house spider in her water
She was so traumatised she couldn't talk about it and always kept a coaster over the glass from then on
