What on Earth to do for a whole WEEK at centre parcs?

20yo Dd who obviously has more money than sense has booked a week with her bf next spring. They think they got a bargain at £900 as the other weeks were over 1k. 🙄

They had no idea they’re only allowed 4x 2hr slots in the pool and also thought all the other activities were free. They’re now having a panic as they have no money left for activities. Guess that’s their Xmas presents sorted anyway….spending money for activities and the pancake house!

Can anyone recommend what activities are good as they will need quite a few. Also do the huts have WiFi now, they’re just in a basic one. If so and they take a fire stick will they be able to get Netflix?

Are you actually asking what a 20yo and her BF might spend their time doing on holiday?? (Assuming BF is boyfriend...)
I'm sure they can go for a walk or read a book if they're really stuck.

DockOTheBay · 17/10/2021 18:07

Can't she just cancel? It's not really a holiday for an adult couple, more like a family holiday!
Cheap activities - they usually have snooker or pool tables for £1 or so. Sports like tabletennis usually aren't that expensive.
If they have bikes there are nice cycling or walking trails. They don't have to stay on the site, they could visit towns or places of interest locally.

olivehater · 17/10/2021 18:09

We did a week in the summer and got more than 4 slots. They are also 3 hours and can’t walk up after 6.
Other things they can do are the spa, bike rides, racket sports, bbq at their villa, meal out , boat on the lake, the big arial adventure zip wire thing. We did a couple of days out in the local area too.

Well they can have a lot of sex and do a lot of cycling (if they hire bikes or bring their own). That’s about it….!

doadeer · 17/10/2021 18:13

At 20 with my bf I honestly didn't care where I was everything was just brilliant Lol.

Eat, drink, go for walks, swimming, play pool, do bowling, read, drink again, sleep, do other stuff, have a bbq, wander with a coffee

Ha ha, yes boyfriend. Yes, I’m sure there will be lots of that going on but she asked me about activity recommendations as well. Last time we went she was little and we did lots of swimming, pottery painting and owl handling.

Table tennis and pool sounds good. Yes, they can take their own bikes. Not sure they can cancel or cut the days down. I assume it’s non refundable.

The huts have WiFi but they might struggle to use the fire stick if it's an open WiFi where everyone uses the same password, also it might not be strong enough to stream TV. maybe they could bring a DVD player

CovidCorvid · 17/10/2021 18:16

DVD player is a good idea.

They’ll get 7 x3 hour slots.
I imagine they’ll shag a bit. Relax in front of the telly, get a bit pissed. It’s what we do.

Will they? Website says 4x 2hr slots which is shit.

Which one are they going to?

MonkeyPuddle · 17/10/2021 18:20

We’re going next week for 4 nights and get 4 x4 hr slots. Plus they can go between 6-9pm without booking. It’s lovely going in the dark.

Disagree. I know couples and even friend groups that have been without children. They do what others do just without the kids. The paid for activities aren’t just for children. The spa, swim, eating out, chilling out in the lodge, walking, bike riding…..
CovidCorvid · 17/10/2021 18:28

I’ve double checked and found a different part of their website to what I was looking at yesterday which says 7 slots and unlimited evening swims. Which is much better, they’re much happier now. Thanks.

we were there in August and you could book to swim every day.

NameChangeforMoneyThings · 17/10/2021 18:28

Looks like it is 3 hrs slots and 7 of them? This is the bottom of the page offering that:

www.centerparcs.co.uk/discover-center-parcs/things-to-do/activities/subtropical-swimming-paradise-3-hour-session.html

That plus cycling and walking. They could take board games with them? That would do it for me for a week I think, with some books and plenty of booze.

They don’t have to stay on site. They could visit nearby towns or cities for a bit of shopping/ site seeing?

We live only about 20 mins away.. So it would seem a bit of a waste to pay all that money and then just go to the local towns, etc. 😁

Currently all trips are refundable until the 18th April 2022.
And you are incorrect about the swimming slots - it's 1 3 hour swim slot per night of your stay, plus free swim between 6pm & 9pm.

We are currently on a week's trip at CP in Whinfell and we have a toddler DD. We've booked swimming everyday, we take dd to the play park & we booked evening meals out for 4 out of 7 nights, plus breakfast at the pancake house.

If we were here without a child (and I wasn't pregnant) we would've also included at least 1 spa session & treatment, crazy golf, kayaking, quad bikes, tree top adventure. As well as spending cosy evenings with a bottle or 2 of wine in front of the log fires watching films or chatting.

Also, they are not "huts", they're self catering lodges with running water and electricity!!

brittleheadgirl · 17/10/2021 18:42

Why are you so involved in your adult dds holiday?
It's actually a bit weird, borderline creepy that you're on the website looking at what's available for her to do Confused

I would presume at 20 it will be swimming, nice walks, cosy dinners, drinking and lots of sex and sleep.
Definitely none of your business!!

Because she asked me. 🤷‍♀️ Because I’ve been quite a few times as an adult so she thought I’d have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all activities. Which I don’t but said I could ask MN. Which she thought was a good idea and she doesn’t have a MN account. Because she’s really poorly with covid now and feels awful, doesn’t feel up to searching through the website but us chatting about it is cheering her up a bit.

Seeing as we have a good relationship and she asked I don’t think it’s creepy. If she hadn’t asked I wouldn’t have got involved I can promise you. 😁

Bet they are in bed most of the morning. Then go for a walk play pool and just chill. Rufford park is local that's lovely and Nottingham is close for shopping. Take board games and bikes if they can. There is a spa you could pay for a spa day for Xmas it's amazing.

Smartiepants79 · 17/10/2021 18:57

The court games are usually cheap - badminton etc
Crazy golf
The water sports like canoeing were always reasonable to hire for an hour.

ftw163532 · 17/10/2021 19:03

Does that include food? The 'bargain' trip that I booked at that age did not even include breakfast. Grin
