What on Earth to do for a whole WEEK at centre parcs?

20yo Dd who obviously has more money than sense has booked a week with her bf next spring. They think they got a bargain at £900 as the other weeks were over 1k. 🙄

They had no idea they’re only allowed 4x 2hr slots in the pool and also thought all the other activities were free. They’re now having a panic as they have no money left for activities. Guess that’s their Xmas presents sorted anyway….spending money for activities and the pancake house!

Can anyone recommend what activities are good as they will need quite a few. Also do the huts have WiFi now, they’re just in a basic one. If so and they take a fire stick will they be able to get Netflix?

We usually go out once during a four night break for an afternoon or lunch.

BoomChicka · 17/10/2021 20:42

900 quid for 2 adults, 20 minutes from home?! Give over Grin

Sherwood Pines is next door with mountain bike trails, Go Ape etc. There's a connecting bridleway I think.

Otherwise the Sherwood CP takes about an hour to walk around, if that, it's quite small.

@CovidCorvid

Sherwood
That's odd I looked at the website today and it said a 3hr bookable session a day at sherwood. I can't wait and will only book a couple of activities. The high ropes and paintballing/driving activities are good
MsSquiz · 17/10/2021 20:56

@BathshebaKnickerStickers if you're just going out for day trips, you would walk to the car in the car park and head out, rather than bringing the car to your lodge.
Your situation wasn't the same as going for a day trip

MimsyBorogroves · 17/10/2021 21:00

@prettypinkflamingo I'm pretty shocked that the one activity I was expecting to be mentioned hasn't.

Mum2jenny · 17/10/2021 21:07

If it helps, my dh hates Centerparcs with a vengeance, but I do go with my kids and grandkids and leave him at home.

Kezzie200 · 17/10/2021 21:29

At Longleat the spa is amazing for a twilight session. Don't know if Sherwood has one. Bikes are a good idea too as can use them to get places as well as an activity.

My husband and I went when pretty young for mid week 4 night break twice. £139! Executive one bed with maid service and villa number choice! First season Longleat opened.

@ThatsWhatI

She's an adult surely they can work that out for themselves Confused
Do you not think that even adults ask others who have been to the same place what is good to do there. It’s like the gazillion of threads every year saying I’m going to Norfolk/Cornwall, wherever what’s good. I don’t see arsey answers saying you’re an adult work it out yourself.

I specifically asked for recommendations for which activities were good. So hoping for answers such as Segway is good but the paintball is shit so don’t bother. I’m sure you’ve asked for recommendations for stuff before. Hmm.

None of her friends have been to CP as adults. So she’s asking me and then asked me to ask MN.

And they definitely have conflicting info on their website about the swimming. This is still up.

Why are you so involved in your adult dds holiday? It's actually a bit weird, borderline creepy that you're on the website looking at what's available for her to do

In what way is it creepy? Confused

MsSquiz · 17/10/2021 21:50

This is on the general part of the site, under sub tropical paradise, re the swimming slots

My hubby always brings his games console and all the apps like netflix, iplayer etc will work.

Spa is my fave thing to do. Aside from that when I go i try to spend as little as possible on activities so stick to bike riding, walks, then one meal oit and maybe a pancake house visit.

We use to always go week before xmas so there was the free firwork display which was an evenings entertainment as well. (We have young kids so different, but i did used to go with friends in late teens and mostly then we'd drink lots and dance in our cabin...we also didn't mind the disco lol)

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 17/10/2021 22:05

You're not the one who's going OP.

And thankfully neither are you. I hope you’re having a lovely weekend. Grin

The swimming slots are now 3 hours and it’s 4 slots for a mid week break and 3 for a weekend so they should get 7 slots. I love centre parcs but wouldn’t go for a full week.

Thanks, that’s good to hear about Netflix as that’s one thing she specifically asked me to find out. 👍.

Why not just book a lovely Airbnb somewhere great? Hugely cheaper, and much more fun / interesting.

hayley013 · 17/10/2021 22:30

If they're going to Sherwood Forest, the spa is an absolute must, best I've ever been to

Longdistance · 17/10/2021 22:34

Sounds shit. CP for a 20yo? No thank you!

mrsevangelina · 17/10/2021 22:38

It's ridiculous to suggest it's creepy that a mum is helping out her child, who ASKED for her help.

People project their own family issues onto threads, OP, don't take it personally. This kind of chat and research would be completely normal in my family, my mum does this sort of thing for me, and it would be completely normal in most of the families I know!
