What was THE INCIDENT at your secondary school?

Inspired by a thread on another website that I randomly came across throught google.

Every school has some sort of 'infamous incident' that passed into the annals of school infamy and was the sole topic of gossip for months if not years.

What was yours?

Mine was the head teacher had an affair with another teacher. Both were married. It all became public on the last day of term and neither of them came back the following term. Just disappeared. No one talked about anything else for a long time.

In 6th Form the head girl was sleeping with one of the staff. We all knew about it as did some of his colleagues but it never became a scandal. We were quite proud of her and thought it was all very sophisticated. They married after she left school and had several children. Years later I heard that they had divorced and she was very angry and disillusioned that he had groomed her.

We had some awful things. The one that stood out is that our Headmaster used to choose the head boys based on his sexual crushes. The one the year after me hung himself in the HM bathroom.

That HM then went to run schools in the Far east and was jailed about 2 years ago for procuring sex with under age boys.

I've worked in many different environments and industries and I think the worst for people constantly having affairs and leaving spouses for colleagues were schools (closely followed by supermarkets).

Girl in my year pregnant with twins in 5th year (year 11now) she hated one of the teachers so her boyfriend (upper 6th) burnt down the hut that the hated teacher worked in ( along with everyone’s DT gcse coursework) Boyfriend got caught and was in prison when girl had the twins.
Spanish teacher vanished one day, a week or so later all the girls in his class questioned by the police (asking if he had ever behaved inappropriately towards us) Spanish teacher later in the paper, sent to prison for child abuse.
Graffiti in poo in the boys toilet - one of the graffiti words was the culprits own name!
Boy in my year always in trouble ( he was naughty but also picked on by the teachers) had a proper actual fight with the PE teacher during a PE lesson, had to be pulled apart by the other kids. Both were never seen again.

thisisnotmyllama… unfortunately death by asthma would be more likely as they are not supposed to carry their pumps and are expected to keep them at the front office… my daughters stays in her pocket, she only has mild asthma, but I know someone who died at 12 because she didn’t have her pump to hand

My form tutor got a 6th former pregnant. He now works in sports direct

We had an old hall with a balcony walkway around the top, years before I went a girl fell off it messing around and died. They never made it more secure.

Primary school back in the days of pushing the tv down the hall, it fell off and crushed a boys arm and needed amputated.

Oh yeah and a 12 year old got pregnant, she kept saying she wasn’t and she gave birth. That was talked about for a long time!
Mad he’s 18 now and she’s 30!

One incident where a teacher eventually lost it with a kid who was known to be a bit of a problem at school and straight out punched him in the face during a science lesson.
Another was when a different teacher was shouting to try to get us to all be quiet and ended up suddenly vomiting all over the floor as she ran from the room.
Last but not least, the art teacher and PE teacher suddenly started fighting outside a history classroom and all the kids circled around cheering them on until more staff got there to break them up. Never did find out what caused that.

32 year old who came back to school pretending to be 17 so he could try and get better grades to get into Uni to study medicine.

That was the biggest drama, although we did also have the usual teachers having 'secret' affairs that the entire school knew about.

Catholic school, all girls, nuns etc. Girl in my older sister's year became a Page 3 girl after she left the sixth form.
She was Never Spoken Of again, (except by the pupils of course!)

Name change as very outing.

The local landowning Tory MP went through some kind of court action for neglect of sheep who were found emaciated on his land. He got off on some kind of technicality.

He was invited to the school for prize giving, and the sixth form lads thought it would be amusing to winch down a sheep skull borrowed from the biology lab during his speech

A girl in my year went topless in The Daily Sport about a month after we left school. Not a Catholic school though!!

Geography teacher was banging a six form girl and a year 11 girl was caught at his house

A student caught the 2 teachers having sex in a classroom

The language teacher got scabies.

In my school it was a male teacher grooming and having sex with a year 9 boy, he was caught and went to prison

1960’s , I went to a very staid Catholic Grammar School , Taught by nuns. One of my classmates started her periods for first time. Went to nun , who gave her a Dr Whites ST to put on, She emerged from the toilet with it soaked in cologne, across her forehead., the loops around each ear.

In yr7 a girl got pregnant and disappeared came back minus the baby her parents put it up for adoption

The Drama teacher coming back after Summer as a man, this was about 25 years ago.

Same drama teacher doing something with the drama group that would end with most of them being terrified and traumatised, which could have easily backfired.

Even as a 14yr old I thought they had a bit of a cult personality vibe about them.

The rumour was that the PE teacher had had an affair with the art teachers wife and when he found out the art teacher, punched the PE teacher square in the nose.
