Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

We're into Father Ted territory aren't we? OP, is your son called Dougal by any chance?

The local woods are much used for filming round here. There are frequently weird structures made from twigs/odd looking shelters. This sounds a bit stranger!

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.

😂

It’s the Tory party conference OP.

Are you trying to get your independent film to go viral?

Your mistake OP was posting this on a Sunday morning instead of at 11pm when people are more easily spooked.

Or assuming this is not a set-up by the OP, my guess is film students.

It's funny what you come across in the woods. My cousin and her boyfriend were walking their dog in some woods over in northern Ireland and came across a large group of middle aged naked men having sex with each other. She recognised a few of them as they do alot of work for the local communities...these men have wives and try act holier than holy so it was a bit of a surprise for her.

Definitely teenagers messing around.

My uncle used to do this seriously but as far as I know did this at home in a spare room, he had a shrine and everything, I never saw this but DB did.

I don’t think it’s pagans, the full moon isn’t until the 21st, there is no blue moon this year for black
Magic (yes it’s a thing) and it’s not Samhain yet. They probably just threatened them to get them to go away and your son shouldn’t be filming strangers , they should have just saw it and left well alone.

@WitchesInTheWoods The threat was likely a joke/empty threat to get some nosey interfering teenagers to buzz off. I wouldn’t bother reporting this.

I’d also get this thread deleted because it’s prime DM fodder.

Doesn't this stuff usually happen under a full moon?

I'd take a guess that these people are trying to do a scary video for Halloween but are too scared to do it at night.
The kids are either part of it, or just caught them in the act.
