Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

It looks like some sort of cult initiation test

Hawkins001 · 18/10/2021 17:55

@Divebar2021

Not all rituals are satanic. Looks pretty interesting actually ….I mean weird definitely but interesting.
Some are Wicca too, and various other cults ect

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.
Only got as far as here - but bet this is still the best response of the whole thread Grin

@JesusInTheCabbageVan - what does Brian think of it all (or whatever your wise man was called. You know, he who knows everything).

wolfmom · 18/10/2021 18:01

I doubt very much they are actual witches or satanists more like a group who think it's all like Dennis Wheatley novel

Topazmumma · 18/10/2021 18:04

As an actual witch, I can say the vast majority of us (and there are more of us than people think 😉) would never condone actually harming others or forcing others to do it, so whatever this is, yes it definitely needs to be nipped in the bud.

HarrietsweetHarriet · 18/10/2021 18:04

It doesn't sound like the behaviour of witches.
This sounds more like ritual black magic which is very different to paganism and the craft. Keep your children well away. These kind of people should not be messed with.

If somebody threatened to cut of my child's head I'd be phoning 999.

If somebody threatened to cut of my child's head AND they already appeared to have injured someone else I'd be calling 999 and I'd be very frightend indeed.

Elphame · 18/10/2021 18:09

@SoupDragon

So people really think "we'll cut your heads off" was a serious threat? Especially in the absence of anything remotely likely to be capable of the job.
Not for one moment. It sounds like an off the cuff response from some very pissed off people that were interrupted at a private event by some teenagers filming them.

I'd have been pissed off too. We forbid filming even at public rituals which are designed to be observed.

My headmaster when I was in junior school was always threatening to decapitate us. Although none of us knew what it meant, it sounded scary enough. Funnily enough we all moved on to secondary with all heads still firmly attached.

PinkPanther27 · 18/10/2021 18:11

@snowflake29f

They are pagans and what your son done was wrong . Would he charge into a building during prayer time ? They were out in the open preaching to Mother Earth and they have been ridiculed on here .
But threatening to cut childrens heads off is ok? 🙄 Also they were in a public setting where anyone is allowed to walk. Were you one of them by any chance?
Bebethany · 18/10/2021 18:14

MibsXX Yeah and a perspective almost as farcical as the OP. ‘4 women minding their own… bla bla’

According to OP the men were restraining & injuring and coercing and then threatened to behead the youngsters! All BS!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 can’t breathe for laughing! Take a bow @JesusInTheCabbageVan
HerRoyalWitchyness · 18/10/2021 18:17

But threatening to cut childrens heads off is ok? not a single person has said that

FreddieMercurysCat · 18/10/2021 18:19

Sounds like a blood magic spell or ritual.

ginforever · 18/10/2021 18:20

Like mentioned above. Not all rituals are satanic. Lots of witch, Wiccan, etc … very normal to have initiation in the woods but I never heard the blood party of it to be honest.
I just think that the cut off your heads was a bit too much for a “praying to Mother Earth” thing… maybe satanic if considered how aggressive this sounds :(

plumpuddisnice · 18/10/2021 18:21

There's some weird gaslighting vibes going on on this thread. Some posters are really trying push the line that people gathering in the woods, cutting each other and threatening kids that they'll cut their heads off is okay Confused

It isn't okay, it really isn't.

HerRoyalWitchyness · 18/10/2021 18:23

Some posters are really trying push the line that people gathering in the woods, cutting each other and threatening kids that they'll cut their heads off is okay literally no one is doing that.

TRex57128 · 18/10/2021 18:29

It's coming up to Halloween so maybe some kind of seasonal ritual.

Insanelysilver · 18/10/2021 18:29

Sounds like some sort of devil worship thing , cos if they were wickens or it was a pagan ritual I don’t think they’d be threatening to cut the boys heads off.
Police need to be informed i think

Dervel · 18/10/2021 18:31

I don’t have a problem with anyone doing (safe and uncoerced) spiritual practice in public spaces. However feeling somehow your group is entitled to the space is ridiculous. You see this sometimes at sacred sites during particularly auspicious dates. You may have many groups wishing to use the space and the vast majority of the time people take turns and are respectful of one another. However you do run into some who are very much stuck in the glamour of their own egos and delusions.

Four people performing a "ritual" interrupted by some kids [teens?].
I can imagine they would be teed off and uttered meaningless threats.
Let's not get overheated.
