Having friends round for takeaway - who pays?

Having a takeaway with friends at your house.

Who pays?

The host or split the bill?

We always split down the middle if it's a takeaway but I supply the drinks.
Been doing this for 30 years so everyone must be happy.
It works the other way of course, when we go to their place it's still a split.

Everyone would pay for what they bought.

When I and my friends were young and poor we'd have split it. These days I'd pay if I'd invited them.

The host, but hopefully the guests would offer to pay their share.

We pay at our house but friends pay at theirs so it evens itself out
Would never allow guests in my home to pay
