Spoiler alert: No Time To Die, what was it?

Just been to see No Time To Die. Brilliant. But just wondering, what exactly is Madeleines big secret? I know it's Mathilde, but it seemed like Blofeld was hinting it was much more than that.. Or am I imagining it?

Also - why did they feel the need to kill him?? They haven't killed off any other James Bonds. I was a bit shocked.

As an aside - our cinema had the sound up so high i had to put tissue in my ears and it was still OTT. The sound was booming through my ribcage!

@Laiste I think because James Bond the dad doesn't fit the narrative, so it means they can start a whole new "cycle" next time sans child.

I thought that it was the fact the child was bonds and her dad was part of spectre. I assume there is no more James Bond, and the next bond will be female and it will be his daughter grown up,

So there won't be any more ''Bond'' films 'cos there's no Bond any more. They'll be ... 007 films i guess.

There is a fan theory that they assume the identity of James Bond when they gain their 007 status. So even though the man keeps changing he's still a/the James Bond.

I think it was the child that was the secret. As if she would have told Blofeld though! I didn't enjoy it that much and feel annoyed he's been killed off. Wished it had been more of a fun film.

@Laiste funny you say that about the sound. We’re just home from the cinema and my mam had to keep putting her fingers in her ears. At one point she jumped almost out of her seat lol.

@Laiste I think it'll just be a recycled bond, I've never felt they've ever attempted to tell a continuous story through the decades, Casino Royale was the first novel so a bit of a prequel and the story sets up his womaniser ways with his Vesper heart break. I just think it'll be a new actor in a new era but the old bond. That's just what I think anyway.

We didn’t see a body though, did we? I think that definitely leaves the door open for a miraculous survival of some sort.. or perhaps each Bond cycle exists in its own separate universe? .. for instance Casino Royale was sort of the start of Bond but also the 20th Bond at the same time. So Bond 25 (with Rege-Jean Page) could be another reboot.

I reckon they'll reboot James Bond and redo some older stories and then spin off the new girl as a new franchise.

I stayed right til the end and it definitely said "James Bond will return"

Also when he spoke to Madeline on the phone she said Bond was the father as they shared eyes.

I think he has to be dead because if he isn't then there's the possibility that he might touch someone who might touch someone who might eventually end up killing Madeline and his daughter.

I never expected him to die because to me it means the character of Bond can never come back. Another 007 perhaps but not Bond. Unless they either go back and create prequels or create some bullshit storyline about him defying death.

That's good. I don't think he would have just died in that way, it didn't fit in with the rest of the Bonds and what his character is, I felt like they took massive liberties with the script and risk ruining the franchise forever which seems nuts.
