Not 4 anymore but when my Ds was 4, we read you choose every single day for a year. I hold it in the end. Great book the first 59 times....

My DD turned 4 in Sept and loves the Mr Men/Little Miss books. We usually have one of those each night (2 of them is q bit much) and then something more picture-based. The Oliver Jeffery books are great.

Another vote for Oi Frog etc - a longstanding favourite here as are Mr Men and Dr Seuss - we have just finished What was I scared of, which really made DS chuckle.

Rachel Bright has written some beautiful children’s books with a lovely hidden message. The Lion inside is particularly lovely.

The Lion Inside by Rachel Bright. She's a fabulous author and has done several really lovely stories perfect for 4 year olds, but The Lion Inside is my favourite
