The Hairy Macleary series of books by Lynley Dodd (all about various cats and dogs)

Truly wonderful to read, outstanding illustrations, can you tell I really miss reading them!

When my daughter was 4.5 I started reading The Faraway Tree series to her - she loved them 😊 We’ve just started the Wishing Chair also by Enid Blyton!

SkankingMopoke · 11/10/2021 21:30

DD2 is 5 now, but a year ago she enjoyed the Meg and Mog series, Mog the forgetful cat series (still loves these), Sandcastle, Mopoke, Koalas eat gum leaves (these last 3 are by Philip Bunting), Rachel Bright's books, and a number of Dr Seuss'.

I Am Bat (also one of my favourites, its fun to read!)
Anna Hibiscus’ Song
Izzy Gizmo
Whatever Next
The Snail and the Whale
Any of the sodding Pip and Posy books (they’re great for pre-readers because the stories are so simple and the pictures are clear so it’s easy for them to follow along by themselves, but omg it is boring to read as an adult)

DS loves the Oi Frog etc books too, and we've started reading him Rabbit and Bear which DD read when she was in year 1 and he'll hopefully come back to when he's older too.
