As the title says really. I was CONVINCED the I had the ol' rona, but negative PCR. It's the worst cold I have ever had, cough, temperature, pouring with snot and generally feeling like death. Anyone else?!

This nasty ‘ bug’ has gone round my whole family and we just don’t seem to be getting any better - into our third week now

isitwinetimeyet16 · 10/10/2021 18:27

We all had Covid then the cold from hell. The cold was worse!

ThesecondLEM · 10/10/2021 18:30

Me, I'm in purgatory right now. Been off since Thursday and just let work know I'll not be in tomorrow.

DD had it and was off school for a week, ended up on antibiotics as it went to her chest and sinuses. Two negative PCRs even the GP was convinced it was covid.

Bloody horrible. I've had covid - this is worse

Yes, my eldest is just getting over it. He's been really ill with it.

Alfiemoon1 · 10/10/2021 18:31

Yes me and ds had it convinced it was covid but pcr tests were negative

Leodrune · 10/10/2021 18:31

Yep, the cold from hell. Much worse than when I had covid.

bagheera92 · 10/10/2021 18:32

I think I've this now ... taken covid tests as I was convinced I had it ! I did have it last year and I felt better then what I do now !!
Horrible chesty cough, coughing up phlegm , throbbing sinuses , ringing ears , exhaustion my eyes are so heavy, no appetite and I keep having hot sweats !
Everyone else in the house has had it and shifted it but I'm struggling 2 bloody weeks now ...
So you have my sympathies op!

StormBaby · 10/10/2021 18:32

I had it, was really very unwell for about 14 days. Didn’t feel like Covid though. I knew it was a cold, but it was horrendous

IcedCoffeeAlways · 10/10/2021 18:35

Had it a couple of weeks ago, quickly followed by a horrendous cough that had me coughing so hard I was physically vomiting 😓 worst cold I ever remember having! DS (11months) got it too and it was awful. He caught hand, foot & mouth the week after 😓 not a good couple of weeks in our house!
Same with the PCRs - had 3 in 2 weeks and all negative. DS had to be tested too and also negative.

Chosennone · 10/10/2021 18:36

Us. But with really strange symptoms. 1 DC threw up and was achey and silvery, had 3 days off school, the other DC was a bit sniffly. DH had a week off with every symptom going and felt worse than when he had covid 3 months ago. I have all the aches and snots and feel like shite. My poor dad has a horrendous cough. Was convinced it was covid, despite negative laterals. Nearly rang an ambulance as he was that bad the other day. Then negative PCR. He is slowly coming out of it now. Grim.

BillywigSting · 10/10/2021 18:36

Yep I've just been snotted with it just as I was in my first week in a new job. Was utterly miserable and if it hadn't been my first week I would have called in sick which I haven't done for nearly ten years.

Still floored now with a rip-roaring sinus headache that won't go away and ds looks to be coming down with it too now.

Have also had covid and agree this monster cold is worse.

Three weeks?! I'm on day four and have had two days off of work so far! I'm not sure I'll be able to go in tomorrow, just totally flat out with fatigue! I hope you feel better soon!

Yes. Went around the whole household, mine turned into a chest infection and I was wiped out for 2-3weeks.

At first I was convinced it was Covid. But I had 3 negative PCRs and multiple negative LFTs.

Impatientwino · 10/10/2021 18:50

Yes all of us have had it. It's been nearly 4 weeks now since the first in our household caught it and it's still not gone.

I was convinced it was covid again (we all had it March last year) but negative PCR tests and lateral flows too.

Such a bad chest for me and terrible coughs all round.

Impatientwino · 10/10/2021 18:53

ABs for chest infection here too..

crankysaurus · 10/10/2021 18:56

Yeah, we're all just over it, felt bloody awful.

WorraLiberty · 10/10/2021 18:56

Yes, I've know lots of people in the past couple of weeks to get this cold.

2 had chest infections and at least 3 had a gunky eye.

nbee84 · 10/10/2021 18:58

Yep, just at the end of week 3 and almost over it - just a bit of a dry cough here and there. 1st 10 days felt really ill, next 10 felt better day by day.

ThreeB · 10/10/2021 18:59

Yup, both Hubby and I started with it about 5 weeks ago and only started feeling normal last week. I had covid last year - this was worse!

SmallWaistFatFace · 10/10/2021 19:00

Sorry to hear of all the chest infections! Sounds really horrendous. Was it easy to get GP appointments? My biggest annoyance with it is the lack of sleep, as soon as I lay down (even propped up) my throat get so dry and irritated I've only managed an hour or two each night. It has been HELL.

FasterthanBolt · 10/10/2021 19:24

Yes, dh and I. Convinced it was Covid but many tests suggest otherwise! I feel like I've been hit by a bus :(

PaperhouseLegs · 10/10/2021 19:30

Yes, suffering right now. Feel dreadful! Also tested for covid and not that. My whole body aches. Get well soon everyone!

Sideorderofchips · 10/10/2021 19:31

Yep me, my boyfriend and my collegue. We've nicknamed it mini plague

Elephantsparade · 10/10/2021 19:32

Could it be flu?
We have a bug in this house but this one seems to be characterised with nearly a week feeling very rough with a heavy cold and temperature, massively improving for 3 or 4 days then suddenly getting much worse again with a cough. So all had 2 pcrs due to the gap of 3-4days fine. The cough is in week 3 now
