Does anyone else have a bug with upset tummy, heavy limbs, feeling exhausted?

I’ve got this very weird combination of symptoms and wondered if it’s a funny bug doing the rounds.

I did a lateral flow test and it was negative.

I feel exhausted, having spent the day in bed, and my limbs just feel like lead. I’ve had tummy pains and the runs since yesterday (sorry TMI)

Anyone else?

Lateral flows don't always pick it up - keep doing it. I had the same.

FriendshipHelp · 02/10/2021 18:53

Lateral flow is no good, you need to do a PCR to rule it out.

AlexaShutUp · 02/10/2021 18:54

It might be worth getting a pcr test. Ltf tests aren't reliable if you're symptomatic and lots of people with covid start off with your symptoms.

@BiscuitLover09876 when you say you had the same, did it turn out to be Covid?

All symptoms of Covid, you need a PCR. Ignore the twaddle about 3 symptoms- it was relevant last March not so much now. Sorry!

mylovelydd · 02/10/2021 18:56

Yes been rough all week with it. It seems to come and go.
Lateral flow tests been neg all week

BadgeronaMoped · 02/10/2021 18:57

We have it, we're in Staffordshire. PCR negative. It's been a weird one! I was convinced I was developing appendicitis on Wednesday because of the lower abdominal pain Grin but yes, the runs and low-level nausea here.

Rainallnight · 02/10/2021 18:59

@BadgeronaMoped that’s exactly it, low level nausea and really off my food.

I suggested to DP - who has the same thing - that we get a PCR test and she said no which really surprised me because were always very diligent where Covid is concerned. I think she’s just fed up. I might go for one in the morning anyway.

Yep I’ve had it all week. Pcr negative. Horrible upset stomach and feeling really rotten.

DaisyWaldron · 02/10/2021 19:13

Similar here. Upset tummy, very tired, only want to eat salty carbs, preferably with lots of liquid. I'm really craving miso soup.

Camblewick · 02/10/2021 19:14

DH had this last week, negative PCR. It started on Sunday night with shivers, headache etc and developed into him having stomach cramps and the runs for 3 days straight - his stomach is still a bit sensitive but nothing like before. I've known him for over 20 years and never known him to have any kind of stomach issue even when the DCs were little and there were stomach bugs doing the rounds. I always got them, he never did but this knocked him for six.

romany4 · 02/10/2021 19:16

Hi had a nausea upset tummy type big 2 weeks ago. As did DH. Lasted about 4 days and then we were fine

romany4 · 02/10/2021 19:18

Hi - I
Big - bug

Stupid phone

KateTheEighth · 02/10/2021 19:21

My son (15) had these symptoms

Vomiting, aches, headache, no appetite and lots of negative LFTs

I took him for a pcr because Covid is running wild at his school and sure enough it was positive

Crunchymum · 02/10/2021 19:28

Had similar last week. Main symptoms were feeling nauseous / off my food but then super hungry yet only able to eat specific things had to really have the fancies for what I ate

Other symptoms were neck ache, lethargy and just feeling pants but nothing concrete.

DC2 developed a cough (negative PCR) last week and now DC3 has a good old fashioned tummy bug.

There is so much around and its so early this year.

thecatsthecats · 02/10/2021 19:58

Yup. Low appetite, and I slept in til 10.30 yesterday, followed by a four hour afternoon nap and another eight hours last night. Still knackered, heavy limbs, stomach trouble, the works!

amymel2016 · 02/10/2021 20:01

Both my and DH had this a couple of weeks ago, both negative PCR test. I put it down to everyone mixing and so lots and lots of different bugs and viruses around now.

Autumngoldleaf · 02/10/2021 20:04

Yep this was dd, neg lat flow and positive pcr.

HarrisMcCoo · 02/10/2021 21:01

Was in bed all day with the norovirus. Vomiting two hourly. And two bouts of diarrhoea. Awful. Stomach still very sensitive. Hardly eaten today. One of my DC had it earlier this week too. He now has chicken pox!

Definitely doing the rounds early.

HarrisMcCoo · 02/10/2021 21:03

Was struck down with it yesterday, but still not bothered about food. Unheard of!

Dogatetheleftovers · 02/10/2021 21:12

I had exactly those symptoms at the start of Covid. I would go and get a pcr test. Hope you feel better soon.

Takingabreakagain · 02/10/2021 21:13

Covid is not the only illness - other viruses are still going around especially now people are mixing so much more. The symptoms are not typical of covid.
Hope you feel better soon OP Flowers

TheGrumpyGoat · 02/10/2021 21:14

Yes same here… DH and I have both had it. Both had negative PCR’s too.

EatSleepRantRepeat · 02/10/2021 21:23

Just sending sympathy to you Flowers , tummy bugs are really horrible! I wish we could have home tests for more things like norovirus, it would help people to avoid spreading it by thinking its just a hangover or something they have eaten. Norovirus is another bug that can make the elderly and vulnerable seriously ill.
