Ive just served the inlaws who already hate me raw chicken burgers

Yup, cooked frozen chicken burgers and chips, in laws ‘popped round’ and me and dh gave them ours and put some more on for us, they gobbled them up, then ds the slow eater noticed they were pink and mushy in the middle.

I’m going to have to tell them, I’m already unpopular to say the least and this is my second offence in giving them off food, twice just looks malicious…
Might eat a pack of raw chicken breasts and end it all in a diarrhea vomity glory

Oh OP!
You poor thing!

Just wait it out, maybe they’ll be ok!

spotcheck · 02/10/2021 18:48

Surely they would have noticed if the burgers weren't cooked?

pastabest · 02/10/2021 18:49

Perhaps suggest they buy a temperature probe for you for Christmas...

They literally inhale food like it’s going to be ripped away from them (dh does too) so they didn’t notice.
Def never cooking for them again, I’m usually a decent cook but twice…fuck 😂

How about poor people who just got food poisoning because of OP....
Theunamedcat · 02/10/2021 18:55

They might be OK 👍

Poor OP? Food poisoning from chicken is awful, I feel sorry for the in-laws.
elizabethdraper · 02/10/2021 18:58

They will be grand. Chicken is healthy enough these days to eat raw.

These are processed frozen burgers, they will be fine

Motnight · 02/10/2021 18:58

I wouldn't bother cooking for people who hate me, sounds like subliminally you might be trying to kill them Op 😂

Theunamedcat · 02/10/2021 18:59

Its not like you did it deliberately you gave them your own food when they dropped over unexpectedly 🤷‍♂️what does your husband say?;

Viviennemary · 02/10/2021 19:00

It could kill them. Very dangerous.

Mariell · 02/10/2021 19:02

Maybe theirs were ok and it’s only your child that you’ve poisoned?

Wankerchief · 02/10/2021 19:05

Husband told them, i chickened (behave) out
They took it surprisingly well mil just said she’d take a few buscopan and hope for the best
Father in law was fine but also said he eats raw bacon and is always fine… who the duck eats raw bacon regularly ?!?

Stretchandsnap · 02/10/2021 19:09

I wouldn’t worry op - maybe they should be a bit nicer to you.

pinkhampoppy · 02/10/2021 19:11

Ready made chicken burgers? Aren't they already cooked?

mbosnz · 02/10/2021 19:11

We have one regular guest, who, sure as eggs are eggs, if something is going to go wrong in a meal, then it's going to go wrong with his meal. . . and we like him!

user1480340573 · 02/10/2021 19:15

Someone's husband bought a workmate back and she had already defrosted fish for them so improvised with a fish shape slice of bread for her. Served to visitor by accident and he said it was tasteless 😊

Wankerchief · 02/10/2021 19:16

No idea if they are ‘raw’ chicken burgers tbh

But at that % chicken surely that lessens the odds of me killing them off

If they are frozen burgers they will already be cooked, not pink in the middle.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/10/2021 19:18

I made a mistake on timing once and ate part of a partially pink chicken Kiev before realising. I popped it back in the oven to fully cook. I was fine and have a very delicate stomach. My dd was once served straight out of the oven barely hot chicken nuggets from the freezer at her friend’s house. I balked but she was also fine.

Your in-laws will very likely be ok.

ImitationofBeing · 02/10/2021 19:19

They were precooked. Probably OK.

Wankerchief · 02/10/2021 19:19

I’m usually a fairly capable and imaginative cook but in the 20 years ive known the in-laws ive either served them ready meals, takeaways or now twice under cooked food🤣

They have knack of turning up when I’m cooking shite for the kids.

OP posts:
Wankerchief · 02/10/2021 19:20

They were cooked for 25 mins in my defence

OP posts:
ThirdElephant · 02/10/2021 19:22

They may well be OK, OP. I once ate bloody chicken that had been cooked for me in a microwave at a relative's house to avoid seeming rude by leaving it uneaten. Didn't have any issues.

He clearly has a strong stomach! He should be completely fine Grin
