Anyone fancy a why are you awake thread?

I have awful toothache. I had an extraction on Thursday and the pain is just getting worse. It's going to be a long weekend until I can see the dentist.

I've taken so many pain killers I can't take any more so just got to ride it out.

How about you?

I have mild shoulder/neck discomfort and can’t get comfortable. Very long day at work yesterday and barely moved from my laptop, which made it worse, then had a big heavy curry for dinner which has given me heartburn and made me feel bloated. I slept from 10pm u top 2am and don’t see me getting much more sleep - got up for a glass of water and now in a MN hole…

I had two G&ts earlier and woke up with raging thirst an hour ago and can't get back to sleep. Doesn't help that dh is snoring like a warthog !

Fell asleep sitting in the chair. 🤨 Don't even remember feeling sleepy!

Hope the pain subsides soon, garlictwist. Supposedly, rubbing an ice cube between the webbed skin of thumb & forefinger helps - probably a load of hogwash though!!

I have insomnia. Slept quite well this week so it was only a matter of time. I received some really terrible heartbreaking news about a colleague yesterday too so I'm dwelling on that

There are some things coming up over the next few days I'm worried about. Obviously if I don't go to bed time will stop and the worrying things won't happen. #science

Baby DS is feeling very poorly after his jabs. I'm too worried to go to sleep so I'm listening to him sleeping in his Moses basket.

It's very sad. A young, much loved colleague and friend just diagnosed with a probably incurable cancer. So much to live for. Life can be incredibly cruel

I've got a stinking cold. Was ok for the last week, have come away with friends today, and bam, nose so blocked I can't sleep. Didn't bring my car so will have to get DH to pick me up tomorrow afternoon.

@garlictwist have you tried Nurofen Plus? It's available over the counter and will get you through til Monday. I took it when (unbeknown to me) my wisdom extraction site became infected under the stitches. Very painful so you have my sympathies.

I'm awake with a cold, stuffy nose, sneezing. All fun stuff. Kids really are germ collectors aren't they?!

3 week old baby has decided she wont be put down and will sleep in my arms instead! Husband also snoring! I'm so bloody tired 😩

Thanks all for replying. Misery likes company! I've made an appointment with a 24 hour dentist online for tomorrow. It's probably going to cost a bomb and might just be a bloke in his garage or a blacksmith or something but right now I don't care!

My DP seems to have taken up snoring as a hobby lately. He kept me up most of last night and the whole of the night before. I'm exhausted and fuming but the more tired I am, the less I sleep. Can't wait until he goes back on night shift - shame they aren't permanent.

I'm pregnant too, which is making my long term insomnia worse. Can't decide if I'm too hot or too cold and which of my aches and pains is more annoying.

Been out with DH tonight. Not long home so I will be going to bed soon and hoping he maybe falls asleep on the sofa so he won't snore in my ear all night.

Your local A&E might have a max fax consultant on duty @garlictwist. Could be infected & need antibiotics.

My husband has terrible toothache too after extraction Monday. I woke up and he wasn't in bed. Panicked as he was in so much pain earlier I thought maybe he'd gone off to s&e in spite of heavy whisky consumption to try and numb his mouth. He was in spare room bit now at 38w pregnant I can't get back to sleep
